| ♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | I just called Allivet (from the link that was posted about the CET mini toothbrush and Maxigaurd Oral Gel) to check on the ingredients in the Vanilla Mint. I had been thinking I would get that one so that it would freshen her breath for my nose as well as clean her teeth. They read me the ingredients (in that AND the Maxiguard Gel...wanted to make sure no alcohol before I consider it) and it has "Sorbitol" in it, not "Xylitol". So it should be okay. I think I read that Xylitol was the culprit, and sorbitol is okay...is that right??

so you do not want anything with that in it - my friend just called with the two maltese who went to dentist that did demi's extractions and he said teeny's teeth were fine so he did not need it and sweet pea back teeth had tartar but would only be under 1/2 hour and was $400 only with a board certified dentist so i feel he is very honest and ethical as he did not do what was not necessary at this time so i definitely know now that demi was very bad off my friend's maltese pups were only 2 years old and each are only 3lbs | |

| because most vets and dentists think it is too stressful on most dogs and not that many experienced people who are doing non-anesthetic and hard to get below the gum line with that procedure. I consulted a very reputable breeder and her vet does non-anesthetic at his office so she does it every 6 mos and every 4th time she does with anesthesia so basically every 2 years. brushing daily helps and best to do after night time feeding i think before bed so the enzymatic toothpaste goes to work all night on teeth. If gum disease and teeth problems brushing twice a day is best |
