| hmm, i think once a week is good only because thier skin is very sensitive and their coats dry out fast. have you heard of the cc products? alot of members here use it and it seems to help keep them smelling good longer. one of our members by the name of brooke has it on her website now and it's inexpensive maybe you can give it a try

| I agree with jesscruz. Bathing once a week is plenty. I haven't tried the cc system yet, but have heard rave reviews with it. I do want to try it & soon. Maybe jescruz or someone can post Brooke's website for us. Or for another suggestion is to get the freshening spray for dogs. My girlfriend uses it on her ****zu. You can use it in between baths and it smells great - fresh & clean! They sell it at Petsmart, and other pet supply stores too I'm sure. Check it out.

| I used to use a unscented baby wipe to clean Mya's cute private bits before she learned to clean them herself. She has a bath about twice a month or when needed now. Huggies baby wipes are great for EVERYTHING from cleaning around the house, removing make up and even cleaning our older dog's butt

| First of all let me welcome you to TY. Hope you love here as much as I do! Ok, It's been cooling down around here big time. But just last week it was way too hot. I was giving Gus Baths 2 times a week and found that his skin was just fine. He also spent alot of time in the pool with us too. I was very fearful for his skin in the pool water but he seems to be just fine. Now that it's cooled down Hopefully it will stay like this but I doubt it. It doesn't start to stay cool here till September or even sometimes Octorber. But when it does get cooler, I only bathe him once a week. He really doesn't get too smelly. I use a spray on conditioner that I use when grooming every day. But by day 6 or 7 it just makes him smell like wet dog,,,,, that's when I know it's time for a bath!

| Hi: There's nothing wrong with the J&J shampoo, but a tearless puppy shampoo doesn't leave the hair as fly-away and I've found I prefer Bio-Groom Fluffy Puppy. If you use a puppy shampoo and make sure it's fairly diluted, there's no reason you can't bathe them more than once a week. If the smell's coming from urine on the coat, you can just bathe the offending parts, or use the baby wipes. They work well. There is also waterless shampoo you just spray on and towel dry that works very well. CJ |
