| Anyone still use Canidae? There was a thread a little while back about Canidae changing their ingredients... and how it caused runny stools for some peoples' dogs.. does anyone still use it? Princess hasn't tried the new one yet.. she still has some left before Canidae changed their ingredients. I'm just curious if anyone still continues to purchase it? I just feel bad because she is running out of Canidae and I mix Canidae with Innova but she doesn't really like Innova.. but I just think those are two of the best ones so I'm not going to switch it to any other ones. |

| I don't use it for my little ones...they are on Wellness, but my big girls (Bulldog & Pit Bull) are eating it and we have just noticed the loose stools and they don't want to eat it anymore which they usually eat everything. We are now switching them to something else. It is sad since the food was so good and now it is not. Why couldn't they have just left it alone?

| I'm still using Canidae. I believe my most recent bag must be the new formula because it looked a little different. My dogs (2 yorkies and one larger akita mix) have not had a problem with it. As a matter of fact I wasn't even aware of the change until I read about it online a couple weeks ago. I have noticed that one of my yorkies has really dry (and not too shiny) fur so I am thinking of changing anyway. Also the nearest store that carries the Canidae is 30 minutes away so I am hoping to find something that I can purchase closer to home.

| Has anyone written to Canidae and asked why they changed the formula and reported the tummy troubles it's causing? I've thought about it, but I took Abby and Daisy off of it after thier last bag and they haven't tried the new formula, so I don't have a complaint about the loose stools. I could still ask though about the switch. Anyone else?

| I recently switched and am sad that I had to. I'm now feeding Merrick Turkducken, which they seem to like better, and it's double the price of Canidae!

| did you know merrick has a rendering plant on the same land they have their manufacturing plant and owner is always lobbying to put rendering parts in dog food a yorkie on another group just had a tumor removed from his stomach and died a month later as it was cancer and ate this food i do not like merrick food as if he is lobbying for it he is probably using it now which makes me nervous -- just thought you should know |

My furkids Donating Member | I still use Canidae. I haven't seen any change in the girls stools. I was told it's only the lamb and rice formula that has changed (I use the chicken)...Also,....I have never heard anything about Merrick not being good. I mix merrick dry with canidae dry for the girls...If anyone has any info on the merrick please pass it along. If I am feeding something bad to the girls I want to know...

| Foods Made by Merrick - Chazhound Dog Forum google merrick rendering plant and you can learn more about it - I would never feed this food -- on my yorkie group a woman fed merrick for years and her yorkie had a huge tumor removed from his stomach and it was cancer and he was only 9 years old and i truly believe it was from rendering meat put in the dog food as it is diseased meat that is removed from human consumption and put in dog food. I would not take any chances as if he owns it on the same land as mfg and he is lobbying for it to be put in dog food i truly believe he is already doing it on the sly Merrick Pet Food |

| I had to take my two yorkies off of Canidae due to loose stools. Had a heck of a time finding something they would eat. They finally ate Diamond Naturals, chicken and rice for little dogs. The pieces are small and they do like it. I also wish they would have left Canidae alone!
