Both Minksheen and Buddy Wash/Rinse (lavendar & mint) have several essential oils that are natural flea repellants. I use Minksheen on Angel and Buddy Wash/Rinse on Sissy. Buddy Splash (leave on conditioner and between bath spritzer) has the same ingredients as the shampoo and I also use Cain & Able Lavender Fresh (between bath spritz) has even more including citronella. If you bathe your pup as often as most yorkie owners (7-10 days) and use a spritz daily before brushing, I believe the essential oils stay on their coat for at least as much protection as the topical chemicals offer, if not more. And without reaction (provided there are no allergies).

| YT 1000 Club Member | I just switched Roxie from Advantix to Advantage. The Advantix wasn't even lasting a week and I heard that Advantage works better. We are having a very bad flea season here plus the woods are in my backyard. I asked the vet about the Advantage over Advantix and she said that she couldn't confirm it but she had also heard Advantage was better. Plus you can reapply Advantage before the month is up if necessary. I've also heard that you should wait 72 hours before bathing after flea treatments and the vet said you really should wait at least 2 weeks. |

I too want to avoid as many chemicals as I can, and am going to try the Brewers Yeast with garlic. Never knew that. Thanks for the information!

| YT 1000 Club Member | I was trying natural approaches but the flea problem here is so bad this year. I went to buy the stuff yesterday and shelves were close to empty. I'm all for natural but there are times when more drastic effective measures are necessary. My babygirl is much happier today being rid of biting crawling nusences all over her. |
