| Senior Yorkie Talker | So should I wait and see if the change in food helps or should I give her a "buzz" and see how her coat grows out from there??

| YT Addict | Hello, I just read your post about the thin coat, I also looked at the last pic you took, I gotta tell ya, your little one looks wxactly like mine. Same color and all. My Gizmos coat looks just like your from my view and I have never thought that his coat was thin. I think mine has the cotton coat. It is not very long but he looks great to me and I also have him groomed twice a month Cynthia

| I would wait and see how the coat is after you change to a grain free. You may want to consider feeding raw. Mine are raw fed, and have grain free kibble down all day if they get hungry. Baxter's coat is just the same way, and I don't feel that it is thin.

| Senior Yorkie Talker | Okay, I will wait and see how the food works out for her.... I was thinking that the groomer might be using a shampoo or perfume or something that might not be agreeing with Shelby. I love her just as she is, I was just worried that she might be lacking some type of nutrients because as you can see from the pics, just a couple months ago her coat was a lot thicker and it has been thinning out.... I can literally see skin towards her rear! but I will take the advice given and wait it out She seems to be really loving the EVO dogfood and I was told that I would probably begin to notice a change within a couple weeks so we'll see.... thanks again to all of you!

| Johnny had a summer cut 4 months ago and parts of his back legs haven't grown in yet so I agree with the other poster who said the puppy cut wouldn't be helpful. I also think with thin hair that it wears down/off as the dog lays on it.

| YT 1000 Club Member | Does the skin look irritated or red? Is she chewing or scratching there alot? Does she seem healthy other wise and have lots of energy? If your really concerned it can't hurt to just have the vet look at her and see. I mean best be safe then sorry. Roxie's hair is thin but I can't see her skin through it. Without seeing in person it's pretty hard to tell. |

![]() Her skin is not irritated nor is it red.... she does not scratch abnormally or chew and she is energetic and healthy! As I mentioned in one of the earlier posts.... I was mainly concerned that she might not be getting all the nutrients she needs or enough of them. Most replies I've gotten mention that she just might be "a thin-coated yorkie" and being that she is my first and only yorkie I didnt even know there was such a thing, lol.... but I am beginning to see that it is pretty common, Im not as worried about it now.... I have changed her food so I am just going to wait and see if that might make the difference!
