Almost begging for the first frost which is so unlike me!! Even the pirate bugs have been awful this year. I've never seen them so bad. Some people think those are no see-ums or fleas and I'm telling them they're not. Even the fruit flies are bad. I wonder if it has something to do with all the rain across the country this year.

well, sprayed fiona last night, got them all off of her...well...took her outside, and here they are again! she had 3 on her face, so i sprayed more, and i think we are clear....but at least i know they are coming from the yard.....we are going to treat the yard this weekend......:(

See the problem with the vinegar is it's not a longer lasting solution... it has a short term benefit...

I've tried the longer lasting sollutions and those aren't working either!! :(

This is my personal opinion....

1) treat your yard
2) bomb your house with bug bombs or call orick
3) vacuum and steam clean your carpets
4) give longer lasting medicines
5) do the vinegar thing before she goes out of the house

After all that, the fleas should be gone.

we are lovign them to death...

and there was nothing in that report that said anything about the products I mentioned earlier and some of the other people mentioned earlier. It even said that frontline and advantage were safer products to use than some others. Sometimes this natural stuff doesn't always work the way it should and especially for bad infestations. As much as I would like to have just sprayed some vinegar on my dogs and cat, I had to do something more serious than that. My dogs were okay for the most part, but the cat was being eaten alive by those fleas. He lost pretty much all of his hair and was scabbing all over his body. He was getting skittish and paranoid for us to touch him and that is very much unlike him. We had to do something. I don't give my animals those products every month... I only do it when I have to because I know that it could be harmful in the end to do it all the time. I have to be careful with Chip and protect him anyway I can because he is allergic to vaccine and gets deathly sick. God forbid if he gets a tick because a lot of our ticks in my area carry lymes. My point is, not all the time does this natural stuff cut it. The vinegar is a temporary fix for a hard problem to solve.

I am only trying to make ppl aware of all the stuff they are using on these little bbykins...

as i also have a bbkin that is suffering from the use of vaccines and flea products that vets reccomended over the years ..also food that was all supposed to be safe...

i joined this site to see for alternatives or traditional chinese medicine for our bbykin..

and now that i have been on here more than a week
all i see here is all the chemicals ppl are using on thier bbykins..

i messaged several ppl that were interested cause the chemicals were not working
unfortunetely they did not do the entire proceedure ....
as u stated u have to do the enitre thing..yard house and pets...
i have done it without chemicals for years after we were badly infested..as even i was being bit by the fleas...

so i researched and chose the best for us and i do the routine all year round...in the house and on our bbykin...

just wanted to share another point of view here....

My biggest problem is that I put Advantix on Roxie going on about 2 weeks ago. She still has fleas and getting worse by the day. She was ok the first week after putting it on but your only supposed to use that once a month and she's got them already. So the vinegar is just helping me in a desperate situation. Today I'm calling the vet back and making a trip into town to get whatever I need to kill these little scavangers off once for all. I also worry about the disease or any other internal parasites from these biting little you know whats. I'm seriously extremely frustrated today and have had enough of them.

Like I said earlier, we've totally stopped using the topical treatments. The infestation in our area was BAD! Now we just use Sentinel (flea/heartworm pill) and Comfortis (two weeks apart) because yes, during really bad flea times, one just does not work the full month. You might want to ask your vet about that combination.

I'm not sure what you're upset about. Nobody has said anything negative about the information you've provided.

We all always appreciate other points of view, but what bothers me is earlier you made it sound like I, and whoever else used the medicines, were killing our babies. I was just sharing from a recent experience what worked for us and informing people of a newer medicine that actually worked.

Are you as upset as I am!? These fleas are seriously controlling my life right now, and I cant deal with it anymore. I dont want to put anything else on her, so I'm gonna just bathe her tomorrow with the flea and tick shampoo that i have, and treat the yard this weekend. COME ON FROST!!!!!
