| I don't really like flea bombs but to each their own. Can you say something to the neighbors politely? Or at least just make sure your yard is sprayed so hopefully they don't have as good of a chance getting over to your area. I'll be glad when we get a good first freeze so it'll take care of a lot of these fleas. Ugh!

| We are now giving Tatum and Stormie (our Aust. Shep.) a Comfortis pill at the beginning of the month and then their Sentinel (flea + heartworm) pill in the middle of the month. Fleas are really bad in our area. Tatum is apparently allergic to fleabites, as we found out about 6 months ago, and ever since the Comfortis combined with the Sentinel, they have had no flea problems. If Tatum were getting bitten, we would know about it because of the rash she would get. I've heard nothing but good things about Comfortis!

| Marci's right.. You didn't make your dogs get fleas.. Your roomies should mind their own business. Same here.. I can't stand most people too.

I can see why the frustration of getting rid of them altogether when their inside the carpets and everywhere else. That is when it is such a pain. I had cats befor and remeber the how stressful it was !

| I would flea bomb the basement where you live and treat the yard. And if you have to, get some Frontline for the outside dog. |

| Again, same here. I think my dogs pick up the fleas from our walks. We have a few strays.. Or what I THINK are strays.. they look kinda healthy as if they get meals enough, but not too clean ![]() Also I just moved into this house 3 months ago.. so everything is still very new and shiny and clean. So I don't think the fleas comes from anywhere in my house. We have stray cats too, always comes into our yard to poop. I think it's because we have lotus plants, and there's clean water in the pot. I have no heart to shoo most if I see any. One was pregnant I do know the neighbor's dogs opposite across the street has fleas ![]() 2 golden retrievers, 1 german shep, and 1 black lab. I see the dog's caretaker picking fleas from their bodies all the time. Yes I snoop from the balcony to look at them in their front yard. No I don't feel guilty it's for the good of my dogs too.Sigh... I don't know what to do if my dogs cannot take walks.. They have begun to love it. But i live in a tropical 3rd world country

| YT 3000 Club Member | I use a flea comb on chester several times a day, put a little petroleum jelly on the comb and then they cant jump off, their was some stuff I seen online called cedarcide or something that was natural that I was thinking about. They can jump out of your vacum cleaner bag so take if out seal it up and throw it away. I vacum up the borax mule team stuff in my vacum cleaner, that will kill them also, good luck. |

| I hate to tell you this, but it can take months to take care of the fleas. From what I understand flea eggs are not affected by sprays, powders, and bombs. The eggs can also lay dormat for months untill the right conditions before hatching. So, it is possible that you will continue to see fleas for a while. Frontline is prob. the best product out there, but it is not a flea repellant. You will still see fleas but they will die after eating from you pup. I think that as long as you vacuum daily, wash bedding every 2 days, and use a good powder on the carpet you should be alright. It will just take some time. I use frontline on my 2 dogs and cat (the cat is outdoors 80% of the time), and also spray them with lavender and tea tree oil diluted in water. We don't have any problems with fleas or ticks and we back up to a large dairy farm and have all kinds of wild life around us. Also, I use Borax laundry powder on my carpet and then take a broom and rub it in every couple of months, it is supposed to be good to dehydrate the fleas in the carpet. Good luck and be patient.

This is true BUT I wouldn't discourage her! She's on the right path and doing the right things. If you vacuum everyday and empty the canister or take the bag straight to the outside trash then you're most likely getting rid of all the eggs. I have read that the vibrations from walking on the floor and running the vacuum causes the eggs to hatch that's why you need to vacuum pretty much every day. We had a flea scare weeks ago... I only saw 1 flea but up 'til today, I have pretty much vacuumed every other day and will probably continue to do so. ![]() Keep up the good work (spraying outside and cleaning inside) and you'll hopefully be flea free in no time, I have faith!

| Thank you all! I know that it does take some time to get rid of them! I am making progress I think! I had to shave out some of Fiona's matts today, and there were a bunch of fleas hiding out in the matts, so I think we should be good. Im getting new vaccumm bags tomorrow so i can just throw them out, and not worry about stupid roomies!
