Donating YT 500 Club Member | Need Help! Possible Ear Infection! I believe Nolee may have an ear infection. One ear in particular is very smelly. He is eating normally. He has had some diarreha, but not unusual due to Advantage Multi (which I am changing). So I don't know if the ear is causing the diarreha. I'm leaving to go out of town this a.m. and the vet cannot see him till Monday. What can I do? How can I tell if it is his ears? Thank you!

| What color junk are you pulling out? How much? Does it smell almost sweet? Can you describe the smell? For a yeast infection, that will probably just make him itchy and waiting til Monday isn't a huge deal. If it is another kind of infection and there is pain involved, that is probably too long to wait. I would call the vet and ask what they want you to do til he can be seen. They may have you use cleaner or maybe just leave it alone.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I'm not getting anything out of it. It isn't red either. The smell is just horrible. He doesn't seem to be in pain. I can touch them and he is not yelping or anything. I did read on some other threads and tried the cleaning solution. Hope I did the right thing. Also went buy yogurt. Vet was in surgery and not able to get any info. Does it sound ok to wait??

Donating YT 10K Club Member | Is he scratching his ears? Mites can also cause smelly ears.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | No, I have not noticed any scratching. They look fine inside.
