| Does anyone know about eyes? I took Monday to a new vet and she noticed a cloudy spot on Monday's left eye. She suggests I take her to a doggie ophthalmologist. Does anyone on here have any experience with something like this?

I have a referral to a doggie eye doctor here on Long Island but I heard he is rude, I do not like "rude" so I may have to take her into Manhattan. I am scared if they say she needs an operation. It was really nice of you to repsond to me. I appreciate that!

Oh thank you so much for that thread, that is what Monday's eye looks like. It is not a cholesterol or calcium problem b/c the vet did a complete blood panel and everything was fine ... she did, however, say something about a corneal scratch. I hope it is something minor and can be healed with eye ointment. I shall keep you posted when I go to the eye doctor. And, yes, I will not go to the "rude" vet, I just got away from a rude one. I am just so worried about her. You are really sweet to post this for me. {{{{{{{{{hugs to you}}}}}}}

| SO glad that answered some of your questions! There is nothing worse... NOTHING.. than worrying about our babies. I hope the vet visit goes well. Please keep us posted! |

The doggie eye doctor was so nice. She said not to be surprised if it happens in her other eye, but it is nothing to worry about. Thank you all for help and support. I hope you never have to have this worry, but have your vet check cholesterol deposits first to relieve your anxiety! Even though it was not conclusive for us. So I guess the blood panel was not too informative. Nonetheless, I am relieved. And I thank you all for your advice and support!

| The condition is called corneal dystrophy. Did your vet tell you it is inherited? Please let Monday's breeder know of the diagnosis so she can pull her parents from her breeding program. |

Thank you everyone .... I am on Long Island and there are only 2 specialists, one on the island and one in Manhattan. We went to Manhattan b/c we heard the on on LI was rude. Glad it was a Sunday so we were able to find a parking place. It was on the upper East Side. Corneal dystrophy? I shall let the breeder know. But Monday is 6 so I am guessing the parents are too old for breeding now.
