| Morkie Hi, I have a morkie pup that is almost 12 weeks old and is still under a pound. He is not always at his best....he is sleepy, all I can get him to eat is chicken or beef broth and nutracal. He has trouble going to the bathroom, it is either liquid or mush and sticks to his tiny bottom. He is very tired all the time, but does pick up now and again. He was eating well but after his vaccinations he is not doing well again. I have to keep waking him up and bringing him to his broth and he takes some, wobbles and goes to lay down. He has been up and down for two or three weeks now. Hey has also had cronic eye goop in one eye. We have drops and clean it out, it goes away for a couple of days, and then comes back. Poor little fella... I am picking up some Tripelt and paterna today, do you think that will help him put on some weight and feel better? |

| What does your vet say? I'd be very scared to have him sick like this since he's so tiny. |

| I have taken him in three times and they don't seem to be able to find anything causing it....just told me to give him nutrical four times per day...but now he stopped eating anything but broth....I think the vaccinations have really compromised him ... |

| Oh my!! I would find a new vet. He sounds like he has hypoglycemia and the broth isn't going to help. He is way to little to leave this sick.

I would find a new vet asap. Thats not good...he's tiny and can go downhill very fast. One of the foster moms in the rescue just fostered a little guy with hypoglycemic episodes. One night she woke up and he was almost gone. She picked him up and started CPR on him at the same time of her giving this little guy CPR she was driving to Penn University. So imagine driving at 3 AM in Philly and while driving having a 2 lb almost dead pup on your lap giving him CPR. I admire her so much...I would have freaked. Of course this baby made it and has now found his forever home. Don't mean to scare you but just want to let you know how fast things can happen. Please have him seened by another vet.

| I would also find another vet. Where did you get your pup? What was the breeder feeding? Some can be very picky eaters and I would try everything to get him to eat. Have you tried canned food or baby food? The breeder that my dog was from sent us home with two large grocery bags of food, infant formula, rice baby cereal, cottage cheese, honey, canned baby meat food, Merrick puppy dry and canned food. It lasted my for the first 6 months. I felt like I spent more time making his food than my own. Please see another vet that is familiar with toy breeds of dogs. Good luck. You can also home cook, I don't know of any dogs that would refuse to eat home cooked food.

| He was eating raw food and doing well....then he got his 9 weeks vaccination and has been sad ever since. He was eating some ceasars soft for a bit, but not any more. I boiled some hambuger and rice and practically mushed it, but he only took a little bite. I know he doens't eat much, he is really tiny, but at least he is drinking the broth and with the nutrical he is still with me. I took him to two different vets and he has been on fluids and given sugar and came around and then within 12 hours he is crashing again. They tested him for liver problems, nothing....still haven't got those results so I am trying to keep him away from anything with large amounts of protien for now..... |

| Great...sounds like you are doing everything you can for this little guy. Just make sure he's eating at all times even is its a tiny bit. My prayers are with you and your little guy. |

I am not sure if it's good to give them all these diff. types of food, but I was also concerned about her weight, because if left up to herself, she would just eat maybe 7 small kibbles A DAY...so i JUST WANTED HER TO EAT! If you give baby food, make sure no onion in the ingredient. If you want to feed the kibble cheess bits, cut up string cheess into TINY pieces, and smoosh it onto a piece of kibble with your fingures. GOOD LUCK TO YOU AND YOUR BABY!

| Also, maybe you can feed him training treats. Not the healthiest Diet, but at this point it's probably better to have him eat something that he will eat than eat nothing at all! |
