| Front legs not straight Hi, I am new to the forum. I have had two wonderful yorkies that I had to put down this year. The good news is I have a great little male yorkie named Milo. He is 7 months old and about 3.5 pounds. I have noticed that his front legs are not straight. They seem to bend out away from his body at the elbows. He does not limp or seem to show any problem. He runs and jumps just fine. I am a bit worried, my other two yorkies did not have this problem. Can anyone tell me if this is something to worry about or not? Thanks, Nancy |

| Welcome to YT. I have no idea what the problem could be but if it doesn't look normal, I'd go to the vet. Luxating patella happens in the back legs, so this wouldn't be that. We have a Michiganders group here if you'd like to join.

| I agree. Have your vet check his legs as conformation faults like bow legs, cow hocks, etc. can put a lot of strain on joints and cause problems like arthritis later on. If his legs are severely bowed, surgical correction while still a puppy is sometimes recommended. So many people think breeding to the standard is all about beauty when it has everything to do with how sound a dog will be. |

| Picture of Milo Here is a picture of Milo. It really is his "ankle joint" that appears crooked. If you look at the picture, his legs are on the floor and bend outward at the ankle. When he stands, he looks "pigeon toed" sort of. |
