| Help please has my dog got a water infection Hi all, am a newbie to this forum and in need of some advice. My 10 month old toy yorkie "Billy" is peeing on my carpets all of a sudden. We trained him when he was a puppy and he didn't pee on the carpets anymore untill about a month ago when he started peeing on carpets again. His urine is very yellow and it seems to me like he can't hold it in and just pee's on the spot. It's not in the same place everytime either. Does he have a water infection?? Any help would be great. | Have just read up on neutering your dog. It does seem that he may be marking his space. He has been in close contact with my mothers dogs which are also yorkies, female yorkies. I have also noticed that he is humping things but not all the time. Would you recommend getting him done? Rgds Grant |

| Yes, Most vets here do it around 6 months of age. It will get worse. Especially if he is around other dogs, he'll be constantly marking his territory.

| Well then you better make an appointment. Or you'll be having puppies. And that will help with the marking, the sooner the better. Before he gets into the habit of it.. sometimes they continue after being neutered. Bailey does it everywhere outside.. but never inside.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | Also remember...even after you get him neutered, he can still hump things. At that point, he's trying to establish his dominance. Sounds like you need to retrain him to keep your carpet in good shape. We actually had to remove our carpet because the previous owners had a dogs and my dogs could smell it and started going all over the place. Earlier last year, I got a rug to go under our coffee table in the living room. My dogs are trained. Well, they seemed to like the new rug and decided to make it one big pee pad. Needless to say, I no longer have a rug in the living room...but the again, I don't have to clean up pee very often, either. Good luck!
