Also remember...even after you get him neutered, he can still hump things. At that point, he's trying to establish his dominance.

Sounds like you need to retrain him to keep your carpet in good shape.

We actually had to remove our carpet because the previous owners had a dogs and my dogs could smell it and started going all over the place.

Earlier last year, I got a rug to go under our coffee table in the living room. My dogs are trained. Well, they seemed to like the new rug and decided to make it one big pee pad. Needless to say, I no longer have a rug in the living room...but the again, I don't have to clean up pee very often, either.
