| canned food verse dry - are both better??? I've been feeding Ted royal canin mixed with the wellness canned. I ran out of the canned one day and didn't get to the store for another 2 days and he seemed to still be eating only the dry. Since then i've been feeding him only kibble. If he'll eat only dry is that better?? I can tell though that he gets more excited when i add the duck Wellness canned. he's not a chicken fan. Thanks for your input!

| You can feed all kibble, all canned, or some of each. Whatever works for you. I prefer canned because it is less processed and I like the moisture content. Some people don't like canned because It "rots teeth" but there is very little evidence of that. Most hard foods break on contact, so unless it is a dental diet specifically made for this, I wouldn't count on it to clean my dog's teeth. Whatever you feed, their teeth need to be brushed regularly.

| I feed both and happy with it. Dinner is strictly wet...canidae lamb & rice. Breakfast is dry....Canidae lamb & rice mixed with Solid Gold Wee bits. I'm trying to switch them to Solid Gold so I'm trying to use up the bag of Canidae dry. I'm happy with the canidae wet so we're sticking to that. They only get a very small amount of dry for breakfast. Just something to keep them going until I come home from work and feed them their dinner. |
