Senior Yorkie Talker | Blue Buffalo?? We live in a rural part of Missouri where there are no specialty dog food stores, and I am planning on putting Gwen on Blue Buffalo dog food, I was wondering if anyone else's Yorkie was on it, or had ever tried it? If they tried it and didn't like it are they normally picky eaters or did they just have an aversion to Blue Buffalo? I'm currently feeding her Purina puppy.....I know I know it's full of grains I didn't know that until after I had bought it...but she REALLY loves it, she even goes into the bathroom we keep her in when no one is home to eat it if you open the gate for her, just to eat it. She doesn't seems to be a fussy eater at all, the breeder had her on feed store puppy food when I got her so she eats pretty much anything, steals my other dogs' kibble for a treat when she gets freedom. I also mix canned in with her kibble so she gets good amounts of protein. Also she's my first toy breed of dog and I was wondering at what age it would be ok to switch her to adult food so she can eat what my others eat (they are getting switched when they are almost done with their current food to Blue Buffalo as well). I know my Golden had to be on puppy food for a year and was wondering if Gwen should do the same. Oh! Gwen is 16 weeks old and weighs 5 pounds if that is any help. Thanks!

| My yo-yo's been eating Blue Buffalo for about a month. She seems to really like the food. She devours it down in seconds, but I'm changing her food to Royal Canin soon. I've heard good things about it, but it doesn't seem right for our Yo-yo as she's become really gassy. Don't know if its the food, but we're gunna try the Royal Canin and if she doesn't like it...She's going back to Blue Buffalo. Quote:

| I have had Sadie on Blue Buffalo (I also live where there are few choices) for about a month and she loves it! She is a very picky eater and has allergies so we switched her from Science Diet (Vet recommended it and I did not know that it was so bad for them) to Blue Buffalo. She has had no problems at all and she even loves the little Life bites in it. I feed her the pink package for small breeds!! She will bite your hand when you rattle the sack. Hope this helps!! |

| Although the Blue Buffalo food is probably ok now, it was part of the recalls from last year. I would personally not buy from a company that had recalls. Blue Buffalo Company, Ltd Issues Nationwide Recall of "Blue" Canned Dog Foods, "Blue Spa Select" Canned Cat Foods and "Blue" Dog Treats Manufactured At American Nutrition, Inc. I sell the Life's Abundance kibble on my website. Their products have never had any recalls and we love the convenience of having it delivered straight to our door....saves time and ga$! Kibble is super fresh and straight from the manufacturing plant to your door. If you would like to try a free sample, just let me know and i'll be happy to send you some. |

| I have read great things about Blue buffalo and have just started giving it to Bigos. He loves it so far. I know it's one of the best foods out there. My only concern is the above post stating that it had recalls previously...ohh. |

| We are in the process of trying to change Harley from Purina. We are on day 4 of the Marrick Puppy Plate, and so far so good. I tried Royal Canin and after two days Harley had a very upset tummy. I was discussing food with a good friend (who works at his vets office) and she told me what ever you do, DO NOT try Blue Buffalo because they had been seeing alot of sick dogs eating this lately. I'm sure this must be something that is new, due to the fact that we had this conversation within the past two weeks. In the past I had heard that Blue Buffalo was good, so maybe they have something going on right now? I would look online and search for stores. I live in a rural area myself, but was suprised to find a store within about 45 minutes (in a neighboring state) with lots of quality choices. Jeri and Harley |

| My Yorkie and Westie both eat Blue Buffalo. It is a high quality food, and I recommend it. We go back and forth between the Lamb and Rice flavor and the fish and potato flavor. |

| Blue Buffalo I switched my puppy over to blue buffalo a couple of weeks ago. Before that she was eating Science diet puppy. After reading all the ingredients I wasn't too happy with the all the corn and by-product meals. I wanted to switch her food to something a bit more healthier and more natural. The ingredients in Blue Buffalo sound wonderful. No fillers and all natural. I like the Holistic idea. My puppy eats Blue Buffalo a little bit better then Science diet. She is a very very picky eater to begin with. |
