My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | I bought a childs soft and tried using that. Mine HATE brushing so I gave up and only use Cool & Clear Dental Care. A little in their water and I'm done and they get clean teeth in the long run. Brodie won't even let me TOUCH his mouth. I've tried everything. But I found the childrens bruch was soft and small. |

Therapy Dog Donating Member | Izzy is on Petzlife gel and spray and we just use a piece of gauze (you can get at any drugstore) and wrap that around your finger and use. The toothbrushes, rubber fingers did not work on Izzy - her mouth was too small for all that stuff and she never minded me putting my finger in her mouth so this works out great for us.

| If you use the cool and clear, do you still have to brush at first or does the plaque come off by itself? my baby is getting older with bad breath and I am wondering if I need to take her into the vet to get her teeth cleaned, however I do not want her put under to have her teeth cleaned.

Thats why I started to use it as well. I don't want to take my babies in and have them put under. Of course every case is different, if her teeth are bothering her I'd have her checked of course. But this does work! | |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | You just keep it in their water...so everytime I need to refill their water I put a capful in there I just keep my bottle in the kitchen so I never forget They can't taste it, but it smells real good! |

| toothbrushes I use a toothbrush made for cats as they are much smaller then the ones available for dogs, they are in most petstores. i find my yorkie is now used to it ,a little tricky at first. I do not not find the solution that goes in their drinking water is enough by itself,i brush Harleys teeth every other day and he never has bad breath.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Be sure never to use human toothpaste, it contains artificial sweeteners that can cause serious illness in pets. I bought my poultry flavored toothpaste online, but you can find suitable toothpastes at any pet store. Some people recommend cat toothbrushes because the Yorkie's mouth is so small, but I have found that children's toothbrushes purchased at the dollar store work fine. I also use Petzlife tooth gel, that's supposed to soften tartar so you can easily brush it off. Remember that you are suppose to still brush the teeth even if using Petzlife spray or gel. Breny, I checked the ingrediants of Cool & Clear Dental Care. Quote:
