| Nutrical.....Should I I took Garrett to the vet last saturday, and during his exam, she asked me if I had him on Nutrical, I said no, and she said that maybe he should be. So I asked her if he was under weight, thin, or what? She said no, he was perfectly healthy, and in amazing condition, but that she recommends Nutrical to prevent hypoglycemia. Garrett has never had any episodes of hypoglycemia, he eats well, he's 5 1/2 months and weight 5lbs, and he's very active. Should I still put him on Nutrical? I feed him top grade food [Fromm kibble plus Evanger's, Merrick and Fromm canned]. Every so often, he also gets broiled chicken or salmon, scrambled eggs, yogurt, cottage cheese etc. I think his diet is sufficient...am I wrong?

| If he is eating and has never had a bout with hypoglycemia I'd leave it as you have it. Mia is the only one of the 3 small fluffs that ever suffered from it but she was very small, very picky eater and a very hard player. Some pups get picky if you feed them to much nutri-cal and only want that it is a suppliment and it does add calories and fat. I think you are doing fine.

| My baby had a hypoglocemia attack around 2 months...and boy was it scarey! I thought I was going to loose him. But you know your baby is eating very well. I understand your vet wanting you to take every precaution, so just buy it and have it on hand...in case.

| In the case of an upset stomach, diarrhea, or vomitting. Nutri-cal is a good source of energy for them. I had a puppy that was vomitting and diarrhea. I told the vet I had given her Nutri-cal and I syringed some water in her mouth. He thought that was great. Anything to prevent dehydration. I believe it has a good shelf life. If you are a jogger or something like that. Taking that along is great because it is self contained. I use it sometimes as a reward for exhibited good behavior to a task at hand. |

| Ok guys....I'm convinced, I'm gonna get the Nutri-Cal for any "just-in-case" times. I wont give it to him if I don't have to tho, he eats so well, I'm kinda proud of his diet. **Hi magsy17, been a while huh, I'm still drooling over the bag, may treat myself soon **
