| Double teeth! My 9 mo. old yorkie lost all his baby teeth expect his top baby fang teeth (as i call them), the new teeth grew in next to them, but i'm wondering if the baby teeth need to get pulled out. They don't seem to be loose at all and when i brush his teeth, the gums near the baby teeth bleed a little. I haven't gone to the vet yet, but is this normal? |

| Very normal and yes, probably need to be removed. Gizmo had to have five baby teeth removed. If you do it at the same time as the spay/neuter it's easiest on them. If you don't remove them, it can cause problems with bad breath and decay. Sorry! Yorkies are really prone to this unfortunately.

| He is already neutered, so that would mean putting him under anesthesia to remove them?" |

| Yes, he would have to go under anesthesia again My Kalani was neutered at 5 months and didn't lose his last baby tooth till he was 18 months. I played tug-o-war with him constantly trying to get it loose and even flossed around it. Just when I was going to give up and have it surgically removed it popped out

| Good news, today one of his fang teeth came out. I'm going to keep trying to play tug with him to try an loosen the other one. I really don't want to put him under just for a tooth. Wish us luck with the other tooth. |

| I am so glad you posted this. I was beginning to worry about Maybelline's double teeth, but she lost one today. It was looking so funny because it was one of the canine's on the bottom and it would poke her lip up so that she looked like she had a crooked smile. It was driving my husband crazy; he said she looked like a goober!
