YAY - I contact a Nutrionist (Cornell Univ.)

I did it!!!! YAY - I am sooooooooooooooo excited! I got a name of a nutritionist at Cornell University and I contact him today. I told him all about TJ and Roxy and their BAT results, skin issues, LP issues, what they used to eat, what they eat now, all their supplements.....

He said that what I am doing now, are very nice choices (YAY!) - but that I am missing some vitamins and minerals and that we need to balance things a little better...

WHOOO-WHOOO - YAY!!!! I am gonna make things right, gonna make things right....So hopefully over the next couple of days I'll have everything the way it should be for Roxy and TJ

That is AWESOME!!!!!!! Isn't it just a relief when you find someone who knows their stuff? Just a ton of weight off of your shoulders?

I am very glad. I have been saying this for months, but I just wanted to get a couple of BATs (don't know why) and then go from there...

I am 'purchasing' one diet that is really made for Roxy (liver and skin issues) - we are going to use what I use now, but just balance it properly, then he will tell how much extra protein I need to add for TJ, so I think it will work out good I also was debating on who and where, but I think I feel comfortable with him and Cornell University. Thanks for all the support

No, as long as you don't mind if the world knows who your nutritionist is aince anyone can read the board.

Besides, if said nutritionist does a search online for his name, he will see that you are talking about him. I have given Ellie's nutritionist's name though.

And if Ellie didn't have a nutritionist, I would try for him.
Are you allowed to share recipes or is that against Cornell rules?

Oh I feel really good now, thanks for saying you would also choose him. We have been e-mailing and so far I have a good feeling about him. He likes what I am doing and is going to just make it better for me, which is what I wanted. I like how he is ok with the one diet and telling me how much more for TJ

I heard something good about him in the LS yahoo group, so that is why I would go with him. I think most nutritionists try to take the recipe you have or the ideas you have and just balance it and make it safe for the dog(s). Ellie's nutritionist took the recipe I was feeding and balanced it while listing substitutions for variety.

When I think to myself, "Ellie has a nutritionist", I want to . How much more spoiled can the dogs on YT be???

Tell me about it Last night over dinner, I said to hubby, "I contacted a nutritionist from Cornell University" he said..."Oh good, for yourself?"...I said..."No silly, for TJ and Roxy!" than we laughed, but he thought it all sounded good

if i am not be too nosy, about how much does cornell charge?
i homecook for sammy, but i was thinking about changing his diet and put him on life's abundance canned dog food. he does not get dry dog food at all.
just a bit concerned about the supplements.

Glad to help. One diet from Cornell cost $140 - you speak via phone or email, they are very nice. Roxy was limited to what she can eat, so they worked with my original diet, just made portion adjustments and the proper supplements. Well worth it - IMO - Let me know if you want the contact information?

hi, thanks for getting back to me. you say for 140.00 they set you up with one diet, is that including the supplements that you have to give when you homecook?
is it at all possible to take the one diet and go by the guidelines and make a couple more diets , so he can have a variety?
when you get a chance can you please pm me or post it here if you are allowed the name of the nutritionist that you used and phone number.
i was going to switch him back to canned and dry kibble of lifes abundance but i am so afraid with all this food making our babies sick and dying.
