| Please Help Me With This Shot Info for Juju Juju is 15 months old and I got a notice from the Vet stating that it was time for Juju's "Rabies vaccination (3yr) and DA2PPV" What is that DA2PPV? Is that something she actually needs? I've seen posts in the past complaining about unneeded shots. Is this one of them?? Thank you for any help you can give me.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi Jeanne! I will look up more info. for you, but I always just get the core vaccinations: Parvo, Distemper, Rabies. Parvo should last 7.5 yrs (lifetime immunity is likely, but they won't quite say it yet and still recommend titer), Distemper lasts 3 yrs. (longer actually, but the 3 years was a "compromise") - but you could titer. Rabies, after the 1st year booster, should be 3 years.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Okay - I think that's the typical "5-Way", which I believe is: canine distemper virus, adenovirus type 1 (hepatitis) and adenovirus type 2 (respiratory disease), canine parainfluenza virus, and canine parvovirus.
