| Yes, I agree, the vet is the way to go. My vet saved me all the teeth in a little plastic bag and my boyfriend and I were so amazed at how big the k9 teeth were, they were the size of a human tooth! The vet also had to give her some stiches on her gums. They gave me some pain meds and antibiotics for her and we have a check up next week to make sure everything is healing well. I'm glad it all over and done with now and she can just go back to enjoying being a silly dog.

| Roxy had 'shark mouth' too. When she was spayed 2 weeks ago, they had to pull 9 teeth ($45) her spay was $130. Now she is good! I was worried that the same would happen to TJ, but he is loosing them and hopefully will continue to. He gets neutered on 8/12 and I don't think he will have to have any teeth pulled. |

| teeth extraction I am worried about putting them under. My babies are 8 months and 6 months. Lucy weighs 4.5lbs and Charlie weighs 5lbs. I have heard they can die due to anesthesia. Maybe her horrible breath isn't so bad after all. No way will she let me brush her teeth. |

Thanks for the info everyone. I've heard from a few people that their breeders have pulled out their dogs teeth or know of someone who has, I just don't like the idea, especially with roots We'll see what he thinks | |

| Tomorrow morning my little Lee goes in for his extractions. He is only 6 1/2 months old and weighs 3 pounds. I talked with the vets assistant, and she assures me they only use the minimal amount of anesthesia to get them under. She said my vet has never lost a pet due to anesthesia. That's good to hear because he's been in business for a very long time. Maybe around 25 years. It's going to be a stressful day!

| I have never heard of this! There must be a reason they put pups under anesthesia to pull teeth. All I can say if you let him do it, pooor Bailey! I know that when Tinkerbell's teeth were falling out in the back, they were very sensitive and she would cry a little if I messed with them. The caps were hanging on causing a terrible smell because of food stuck in them. They really seemed to hurt her when I would try to mess with them. Please try to play games and such that will allow them to loosen on their own. I can only imagine how much Bailey will like your fiance if he pulls his teeth out! I have a feeling yorkies don't easily forget. My last dog had a couple of teeth removed when she got older and it was only $150. |
