| Raw food help ... please! I have heard such great reviews on switching your dogs over to Raw so thought I would give it a try. I went out in search for the nature’s variety since it seems to be a very popular. I could not find it at all in my area so I selected "Raw Health" which seems very similar. The store I went to only had chicken and beef to choose from so I picked the Chicken. I have tried now for 3 days to feed it to Murphy and Mia BOTH who will not even touch it. Mia actually just started TRYING it today but is still turning her nose up to it. Murphy on the other hand who will eat ANYTHING is disgusted by it. Here is the site... Home Can any one tell me if they have tried this for their pets and if so do you have any reviews or advice for me? Do you think the Natures Variety is that much different and worth traveling out of town to get if they will not even eat this one? Thanks!

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oh, gosh, those stinkers! One thing you *could* try is flash searing it - heat a bit of oil in a pan over med-high heat - and heat each side of meat - just 15 seconds or so each side. SOMETIMES this helps. Also, get some shredded cheese and mix it up a bit in the meat - making sure some cheese is on top for smell. Drizzle some broth over it. (just don't micro it) The ingredients look good. I use NV and Wylie will eat ANYTHING. Marcel would only eat lamb. Then I tried beef, and he did like that a bit. Recently, I just added organic chicken (not regular) and they are FANATIC over it - it's like butter. So, NV may have something in taste. So, I don't know - you could try to entice them using a few methods (others will probably have some tips too) before trying NV.

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Hey Caren, I am so sorry to hear that M&M aren't eating the raw I have personally never tried the brand that you bought, but I can tell you that I have read that MANY, MANY babies will not GO NEAR Chicken or Beef raw. I don't know what it is about the chicken and beef, but it seems that alot of babies won't touch it. For this reason, I have never even bought the chicken or beef varietys. I ONLY buy the lamb and venison and my babies GOBBLE this stuff down like there is no tomorrow! They have from day one. Stedman absolutely LOVES it and you know what an extremely picky eater he is I thought you said that you did find the Nature's Variety in your area? Maybe I am dreaming or just losing my mind...which could very well be, LOL. I really don't know what other advice to give as I have never tried the brand that you bought, nor have my babies ever eaten the chicken or the beef. All they have ever had "raw" is Nature's Variety Lamb and also the Venison and they LOVE them both So sorry that I couldn't be more help girl

| When I first switched Jamie over he was kind of iffy about it because it was still very very cold (like partially frozen). So I leave it in the fridge over night to thaw and then let it sit on his plate on the counter for a minute before I give it to him and he just gobbles it right up. He likes the venison and the lamb, but the rabbit is his FAVORITE!

| I've also heard it suggested to just lightly sear it, have you tried that? I hope it works for you but I will warn you that Zoe liked the NV raw for about 3 weeks and then started refusing it as I think she thought she was missing out since my other dog was eating kibble. Since then I have switched them both to prey model raw and things are going wonderfully. They are both eating the same thing so neither feels like they are missing out and they both look forward to meal times and really seem to enjoy it. |

| Mine wouldn't eat it cold either I had to sear it also. You think you have it bad with your left over food? My little ones were never interested in raw bones but I just purchased (via UPS) about 25-30lbs of raw beef marrow bones for my Bull Terrier. He got a stomach flu yesterday and the vet said no raw for at least a until his tummy settles.......I never knew how much 25-30lbs of bones look like

| Hey Sims, Why dont you try Stella and Chewys Raw? My Abby loves it!! Plus it has less veggies snd more meat than NV... I tried giving Abby NV and she hated it.... had a violent reaction to it actually...
