| This is probably a stupid question, but I just bought some nv raw chicken to try out on Hunter. But when you thaw, does it need to be in closed tupperware or zip lock bag in fridge or can it be in an open container. And do you serve it straight from the fridge or let it sit out before serving? Thanks! |

I thaw mine in a closed container, over night in the 'fridge. Treat it just as you would raw meat you are feeding your family. I serve it straight from the 'fridge, I tear it into little pieces and put it in their bowels, washing my hands thoroughly before and after handling it. Sheila

				   | I thaw mine in the fridge in tupperware. OMG... I am feeding double what I should be feeding them. They scarf it down so fast that it seems like not enough food.

				   | Today was Bobby's very 1st day on NV Raw. So far so good. He seemed to really like it. I gave him 4 medalions. He weights 9 lbs. he is acting like he is hungry, he keeps going to his bowl and licking it. I am going to try giving him 5 medalions tomorrow. |

				   | I also went cold turkey. I was told that even if you experience some diarrhea from the switch in the beginning, it's nothing to worry about as it shouldn't last long. This is just a sign of the dog expelling all the crap out of their system. |

				   | I gave Hunter his 1st feeding of NV raw tonight. He kinda sniffed, then licked, then gobbled it up. I am worried though, I gave him the chicken medallions (he has been on Merrick's can and dry before this)....should I be worried about any sort of allergy. It looks like some people had problems with the chicken. Should I be on the lookout for anything, or be trying another type of meat?? Thanks!! |

				   | I switched my 8 month old Yorkie, Jack, Cold Turkey to NV Raw Medallions. He really didnt eat much or care about food, and being only 6 lbs I was worried that he wasnt eating enough. I am so glad I made the switch!! I only feed him the medallions with no Kibble. I found with just the Raw food, Jacks eyes are better, less scratching and the best part - His poop is wonderful - Small with little to no smell. He also went from pooping 3-4 times a day, to 1-2. I have some grain-free treats that I give for rewards but do not want to add any grains to his diet. I actually want to thank everyone one this web site who wrote about the raw doet. I had never heard about it before this sight but knew I needed to find something different for jack. I give him Chicken, Lamb and Venison and he loves them all!!! THanks to all. I highly recommend this type of diet! |

				   | I started Bobby on NV chicken earlier this week. He took to it really well the first 2 days. Now he wont touch it. I have tried to hand feed it to him, and he still wont touch it. He just sniffs it and then walks away. Has anyone else experienced this? I am wondering if I should try another flavor. I have been having to give him kibble for 2 days because he wasnt eating. He eats that just fine..I am not sure if I should wait it out or try something new. |

Kia turned off to the NV, too, after vomiting twice. Plus, there was a bone fragment in it that cut her mouth. So, we're done with NV raw. I found two good size bone fragments in another medallion. I think Kia is just too tiny to handle those bones fragments, and I'm glad it was only her mouth that got cut. Sheila
