Personally, I would stick with just chicken for at least a couple of weeks, if not longer, before adding anything else to their diet. Then add another meat and wait a while before adding another meat. Too many new meats all at once could cause problems. If you wait a while between new meats, you will also be able to figure out more easily which is the culprit if your dogs should ever have a problem with one particular meat.:) |
Omega, thank you so much for the help. :D Although I am wondering, what kind of fish capsules are you talking about? Because I think this is what I cannot afford. A bottle of 200 is $20.. that is quite a lot of money for me.. I think it would be cheaper to feed true fish. I would stick to chicken for a few weeks then. After that I might try pork or mutton/lamb, depends which one I can get for better price at that time. Thanks a lot! |

My dogs love both pork and mutton.:) |

How often should I feed them this? And if I just pour it onto the meat, wouldn't most of it go to waste? Should I give it to them in a very small dish for them to lick? Great to hear they love pork and mutton! I think pork will be logical to feed after chicken, but it's horribly expensive right now, despite it being ridiculously easy to breed. I know because I had a friend whose father had a pig farm. Mutton or lamb (what do you call goat meat?) is cheaper than beef because it is very popular meat here. Oh well.. I should start 1st and figure it out :D |
Need quick advice here.. I have never had Mocha tested for Liver Shunt... Never did the BAT. She's now 8 months old and healthy as a horse.. Should I test her before switching? I am planning to switch next week.. I am running out of kibble soon.. Please advice ASAP.. |

You're right. I totally forgot about the kibble thing. I'm feeding them Orijen right now. Definitely not advised for LS. I have joined that group a few months ago when I started researching, I try to read every message but there's really a lot to read - and all of it great info! Thnks tjmom. :) I will look in the archives about LS on raw. I was just worried because to do bloodwork is out of the norm here.. I don't know how to explain to the vet what I want.. And it might be expensive.. AND I don't even know if anyone does these kind of testing here. I'm just glad Mocha and Lulu are very healthy dogs. Thanks for the quick response! |

I have never had any bloodwork on my dogs :( It's just not the norm here. But I'm comfortable enough to go on. Thanks very much. OH! What do you guys do fro flea prevention? SHould I just go ahead and apply frontline? |
I am so sorry for the mountain of questions, but should I fast my dogs before their 1st raw meal? Mocha never had problems with blood sugar, but 24 hours might be a tad long. |
UGH.. I am sorry.. One more question. I saw online someone is selling this in Jakarta and they can deliver to me by mail.. What do you think? Is this good enough for my babies? This is the one I am giving to my dogs right now. That's what I mean by the oil form and not in capsules.;) Unscented Icelandic Salmon Oil for Skin & Coat I forgot shipping would be so high on any product from here.:( I\'m not really sure what else to use that isn\'t one of the topical ones. Maybe do an online search for natural products? The RawChat group on yahoo would probably have a ton of stuff in their archives, or you could just ask for opinions, too. |
Hi, my Baby is 6 months old, and he is on raw prey. I only have one problem, he tries to swallow chicken wings whole, and a leg is too much for his weight, so I am really having trouble trying to figure out how to feed him. Any sugestions. Thanks in advanced. |
