| Topknot, so glad that your Mickey is coming home and OK. Dog foods can be very tricky. My German Shep has such a sensitive stomach. When we got him the breeder was feeding Innova which I'm told is a really good all natural food. Hunter never got used to it, his stools were soft and then got very runny. I switched him to Eukanuba which I know isn't supposed to be as good, but it really worked for him. Use what works! |

| Reese, Actually I changed Chloe to that food because of her coat. But I am still getting the same problem, Flakey. I bought a dog detangler but i think it leaves residue. Do you know what brand is good? What is that expensive brand others use for their yorkies? Something ....christian....? Please help. I am getting very scared. |

| Oh, i feel so badf or you having to go through that. It's scary stuff. But who knew that just by changing foods could be so severe at times. And the poor baby Mickey too. I am glad that you both are doing better though. Take care of each other.

| Kim, I had the same thought you did about the hamberger - I always read skinless boneless chicken breast with rice Sandy Lemire book "Head to Tail Yorkies" has the best advise that really works and since Crystal is 11 yrs old I have used alot of her tips. Kidney Cleansing Diet. Non Fat Diet and Weight Gain Formula but extreme weight loss in a pup could be liver shunt The Vassar Yorkshire Terrier site has wonderful advise on all aspects of raising a Yorkie (She and her husband both died on the same day not too long ago) This woman was so talented I have never seen anything like the things she has made for sale . Do take a look (I'm not sure if there is anything left) but you will never ever believe what she has made. Joan and Crystal |

| Thanks Crystalsmom. I thought too that the chicken would be okay, but the vet said no! I had never fed Mickey chicken before and with the (gradual) change in diet twice - it was too much. Some dogs can handle it - others not. T. |

| Oh my gosh, that is so scary. Im so happy that Micky is doing better now. Gucci is a very picky eater, I havent found a food yet that she will eat. She is on NAtural Balance and she doesnt like it now. She hasnt being eating in the last couple of days. I have to give it to her on my hand and she only eats a little bit.SO i have bing giving her a bit of rice and boil chicken. I call the vet and i had an appointment next week. The vet told me that some pups loose their appetites on the summer. Im thinking to switch to innova evo. I just dont know what to do now after reading your post. I dont want my baby to get sick. TY so much for telling us. Once again im so happy he is feeling much better. |

| Thank you Marie. Yes, so far he is doing great. He is back to barking again and running/jumping around. And yes, too much protein is poison to our breed. So everyone be careful. Here I had thought I was doing good by giving him the best I could and it was actually the worst. T. |

| I am so glad to hear that he is much better! Thank God! You gave us all something to think about. What works with one dog does not necessarily work with another.

| Baby1582 - How true! Thank you all for the well wishes. I just wanted to get this out to you all as a reminder and Mickey is my all and without him I would miss him terribly, as I know you feel the same about your babies. I love that picture of the yorkie with the pacy. I am headed out this morning to get one for my pups. I wonder if they will do the same thing. T. |
