| ![]() I had that happen to me the fiirst time I took mine for their annuals it was over $400. In addition to the shots the vet does wellness bloodwork and heartworm tests. My Husband had a cow! From then on out I always take them separately

Donating YT 10K Club Member | ![]() If your puppy is 12 weeks old when you get him/her...they should've already had de-worming and 2 sets of shots. At 14 weeks there's another booster set and at 16 weeks (I think that's the correct age)...a rabies shot. Some vets will give the rabies with the other vaccinations. Mine advises not to with these little guys. Those visits cost me $55 to $65 each which includes an office visit fee. I prefer to go to my vet's office so they have an established knowledge of my pets and we can also discuss any concerns I might have. Neutering at 6 months runs $225. This includes a full blood panel workup. I failed to mention should your breeder offer a health guarantee...many of those stipulate you must take your new baby in for a wellness visit within a certain amount of time. Here that would include testing a fecal sample...and again the visit would be around 50 bucks... Heart worm preventative and flea protection are other expenses added to any vaccinations I agree where you live definitely determines the vet fees.

| ![]() This is a great article that estimates the cost of owning of dog: The Cost of Owning a Dog I find most toy dog owners feel this is a very conservative estimate. |
