| Does anyone use trader joe dog food? If so what do you think of it? I picked up a can the other day because Alphy wasn't eating again. In part because Murphy is a big pig. I also can't get Murphy to eat his puppy food, he only wanted Alphy's food, so I mixed them. Anyway, I thought if I bought a can of soft food and mixed it Alphy would eat and sure enough he does. Yea!!! But I wanted to know if anyone thought it was a good food or not. I'm very nervous about soft food because of the past recalls.

| CHUNKY BEEF DINNER: sufficent water for processing, beef, chicken, textured soy protein product, animal liver, sodium tripolyphosphate, guar gum, potassium chloride, tricalcium phosphate, carrageenan, cassia gum, choline chloride, vitamins (vitamin E, A, B12, D3 supplements, thismine mononitrate, biotin, riboflavin supplement), minerals (ferrous sulfate, zinc oxide, coper proteinate, mangous sulfate, potassium iodide, sodium selenite). Okay, now typing it doesn't look as good as I thought. Isn't guar gum something bad too? 1lb 6 oz can is only 89 cents. ???

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Not bad at all, really. Pretty darn great! Guar gum is in a lot of premium canned foods. The only thing that might be an issue is if your dog would have any problems with soy - so you may want to take a look at that. Any info on where it's manufactured - might want to peek at the can. I think recently TJ's discontinued many/any dealings with China, didn't they? So, that's good...

| OK I'm like Trader Joes #1 fan but that doesn't look all that great. "Animal liver" could be ANY animal, otherwise it would say "Chicken liver" and the soy proteins look like filler. We feed Merrick, Nature's Variety or Evangers. Here's the Evangers Drummettes ingredients: CHICKEN (DRUMMETTE), CHICKEN BROTH, POULTRY, BEEF, CARROTS, PEAS, PASTA, VITAMIN a ACETATE, VITAMIN D3 SUPPLEMENT, VITAMIN E SUPPLEMENT, ASCORBIC ACID, NIACIN SUPPLEMENT, d-CALCIUM PANTOTHENATE, RIBOFLAVIN SUPPLEMENT, THIAMIN MONONITRATE, PYRIODOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE, VITAMIN B12 SUPPLEMENT, BIOTIN, FOLIC ACID, ZINC SULFATE, FERROUS SULFATE, MANGANESE SULFATE, COPPER SULFATE, CALCIUM IODATED AND SODIUM SELENITE.
