| Hi Glory, I was wondering what size of a bottle of garlic this was? I here that to much garlic is not good for our little ones and would not want to put too much in. It sounds like a good recipe and you have had good results with it. I would like to try it for my little one. I would probably make half that much since Haylie Mae is only 4lbs. Thank you for sharing your recipe with us. |

| Great information...I'm going to see if I can find these for Winston. Are they messy? I don't want spots on my carpets...

| I assume once you clean the marrow out, there's just bone left so it shouldn't be too messy. I'll let you know once I try them though.

| Yes, they can be unless you get the ones that are already cleaned or you clean them yourself. The ones I got still had a little meat on them, very small amount but still and there was a little spot of blood on my hardwood floors too. |

| went to the pet store and i think i found them.. it wasnt called marrow, but it looked like it and it didnt spinter... the one i got lexi was around 3 inches long. she went nuts,, first she tried tohide it from me and then got really aggressive with me when i tried to take it away.. her teeth were showing everytime i would put my fist up to her . i put my finger up to her and got scared she would of bit it off.. my b/f was laughing, he said stay away. i had to get that bone from her so i finally did and said to her no bite!!! be nice, and guess what, she let me take it from her after awhile.. i took it and said good girl and gave it back for like 10 minutes.. im not sure if its the same thing, it was smoked though... we shall try again tonight hopefully i wont get bit cause i bite too.. |

| This is what an all natural bone looks like - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community I posted this last year. It's all Buddy chews. I buy mine at the pet store where I shop. They are already cleaned. He has one in every room of the house. Your all very smart to get your babies on these bones. They are safe and clean the teeth. |

| I'm interested in hearing the reasons your vet gave you? I think it's important we hear both sides of the issue.

| I was so excited after reading this thread, I ran out and got some right away from the butcher! I got a small bag of 3 bones (about 2"-4") for $4. I went as they were closing so they couldn't cut them smaller. I let them defrost, cleaned out the marrow, and cleaned off as much of the outside as I could. Bentley my 3 year old has bad tartar build up and HATES brushing. Louie is teething so he's been chewing like a maniac. I must say the marrow bones are a hit! They are going at them like crazy!!! I haven't heard a peep in 20 min. I only allow them to chew them in their designated areas that I covered with a towel or plastic. I have included some pictures for your enjoyment.

| This thread has been so interesting and informative! Yesterday, I went to my local chain grocery store and talked to the butcher about this bone. He went in the back and brought out the whole leg bone and showed it to me. (Yuk!) Then he went and cut four two-inch pieces for me and it cost $1.15. I took out the middle and scrubbed the outside. Now it is in the freezer. So, Piccolo has had problems with pancreatitis issues in the past and I am hoping it will not cause problems. Hope to try it soon for her teeth. Thanks for all the information. Lisa and Piccolo |

| Gee, my grocery store now has a cooler for fresh organic dog foods, and I should tell them to put marrow bones in it, too! Thanks for the tip, I can't brush either one of my brats, and they have both had dental work at the vet. If this works, the OP is a HERO!!
