Loki: 10 seconds Sammy: 3 minutes They are a very natural product so they are all different sizes and shapes, but they are about the size of big zig-zag cut french fries. I just looked at a package and there are maybe 20? in there (without opening it and counting). When I'm giving them as a treat I do break them in half. The fries are more of a treat than a chew. The bigger ones are more of a chew... but beware of orange poop!

| I am always looking for new healthy natural treats and chews. The sweet potato steaks are great as it does take some time for them to get through. They look like a thick Ruffles potato chip with the ridges. Another alternative to a bully stick is Antlerz. They come in different sizes, small should work for Yorkies. They last longer than bully sticks and do not splinter. I think they are great for those who worry about too much protein (especially if your baby has liver issues but needs a chew) as they are deer antlers that are made of calcium and phosphourous. They also do not stink or get goopy when wet. |

| http://www.asankadogs.com/Antlerz.html They are actually the sheddings so no animals are harmed. If you go on line you will find many places that sell them.

| THe favorite chews in this house are raw meaty bones *usually knuckle bones). Though they can be messy they are given either outside or in crates that can be easily wiped down. |

| I have these little rawhide "chips" in the shapes of bones... They come in all sorts of colors.. and I give my kiddos Nylabones but not the small ones.. Usually the regular size.. That way they have the chew on it and can't just bite hunks off.. If it doesn't fit in their mouth, the likelihood of them snapping a piece off is slim (but they are supervised ALL the time - someone is always here watching them). I have always given rawhides... Some dogs can tolerate things that others cant.. I remember my first yorkie could eat every rawhide under the sun but when she got those little 10 cent sticks (they come in beef, cheese, bacon, peanut butter, etc) she would vomit wildly.. The first time, I didn't think it was them and then a few weeks later, gave her another one and same thing...My kiddos now can eat them just fine, although I don't buy them anymore (bfs mom gave them to them).. I just think it depends on the dog, the supervision, and the treat in question...

| Did you check out the FAQ? They mention a 7 year old dog that loves them so they probably are not just for puppies, but I kept reading and they wouldn't be good for Tricksie because she is a very aggressive chewer.
