| Taste of the Wild Okay, after feeding my 4 little inside dogs nutro natural, someone said there was some problems with that, so, I started feeding taste of the wild, mixing it with the other food for a few days...all of a sudden, all 4 are having the runs(I have the one with the fowl), now, I'm going to have to go to something else..The big dogs are on it and doing fine, but, it's not setting well with the 4 little ones..Now, it's back to finding a different food for these..I'm thinking science diet.. |

| The nutro was agreeing with them, but, then someone in here said it's not good for them..Well, this taste of wild is fine with the 2 big outside dogs, not these little ones..I think it has too much protein in it..I'm going to go buy the nutro ultra here as soon as TSC opens...I think them having diarrhea is more dangerous, than giving the nutro.. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Check fat content too - there are a few higher protein kibbles that, for some odd reason, have jacked up fat content - and I actually think THAT is more prone to cause the diarrhea than the higher protein (which I think is good). So maybe compare that...

| I've been feeding Nutro for years and have had no problems with it. It's one of the few that were not reclled and it is free of corn and by products. I feed the lamb and rice. I know alot of show people that feed it and figure if it isn't broken don't fix it.

| update I just ran to TSC and bought some of the nutro ultra..I got home and there was throw up all over the back of the leather couch..hubby said only one up there was Ginger(my little 7 mos old), she is in her bed now shivering and warm nose...She's almost 5 pounds, but with all the diarrhea and now throw up, I'm really concerned...I hate switching food this fast, but, got rid of all the taste of wild(luckily the big dogs are eating it and seem to really like it and are doing well on it), and just stuck the ultra in their bowl..Lord I hope this diarrhea and vomitting stops, I'm on my last nerve.. |

| It is probably just too rich. Have you tried Canidae or Natural Balance? With all the reports of animals getting sick from Nutro, I wouldn't use it.

| I've used the canidae, but, the nutro ultra is one of the ones where they have less poop(a lot less than the canidae). I decided to leave the 2 outside dogs on taste of the wild, as they really eat it well, which is very unusual, and seem to be doing well on it...the 4 little ones like the nutro ultra, and today all the poop is back to normal, which is great, as I went through more pee pads yesterday, then I go through usually in a weeks time..hubby said lastnight, no more changing foods, just leave them what they're on..so, will stick with the nutro.. |

| Glad to hear everyone is feeling better.. I had Izzie on the Nutro as well because that's what the breeder had her own, but then I also heard then same thing about Nutro so I had to change. I bought Wellness for both dogs and so far they been doing well I guess sometimes what works for someone else's dog doesn't always mean it going to work for your dog... Just glad to hear they are feeling better
