| Help with give medicine Hi everyone, how do you get your yorkie to take medicine in pill form. The vet said I could crush it but what to mix with it so I'm sure Kodie will eat it all. We are going out of town this weekend and the pill is for motion sickness. he won't eat ginger snaps. |

| I put the tablets into a small piece of vienna (I think you guys call them wieners). Never had a problem getting them to take tablets that way.

| rice, cottage cheese, yogurt? Or just do what I do to get Ellie to take her pill everyday (it can't be crushed). I have her sit and then I tip her head back and open her mouth. Then I drop the pill to the back of her mouth and follow with water.

| He doesn't care for peanut butter that much, vet said not to cover it with cheese, it will not allow the pill to disolve like it should, haven't tried cottage cheese or yogurt and vienna weenies may do the trick. Thanks everyone, I am so glad to have all of you to advise me. |

| My 3 are such piggies that I toss the pill down their throat and let them see that I have a yummy treat in my hand. They swallow the pill without knowing what it is cause they are so intent on getting the treat

Mine always assume everything I give them IS a treat, so if I act like the pills are treats, they'll usually swallow them before they taste them. We do have one (schatzie) who does not like pills. We'll put it in a piece of bread, or do what the vet does.- puts the pill at the back of her mouth, hold her snout closed before she can spit it out, and lightly blow in her face, which makes her swallow.

| My girl loves sweet potatoes so when I had to give her liquid medicine I mixed it with that. For pills I just rubbed a bit of organic peanut or almond butter on them and she thinks they are treats. |

| I started my daughters Chihuahua on Angel Eyes last night. I could not get her to take it in her food nor water. I mixed it up in Virgin Coconut Oil and voila'! She wolfed it down!

| CHEESE CHASER. 1. Show them cheese (or hot dog or whatever) 2. feed them the pill 3. feed them the cheese They are usually so excited to eat the cheese that they ignore the pill and just swallow it and by feeding the cheese it prevents the usual "run over to the carpet and spit out the pill" routine. Loki even comes running when I say "medicine!!!!"
