Mine always assume everything I give them IS a treat, so if I act like the pills are treats, they'll usually swallow them before they taste them.
We do have one (schatzie) who does not like pills. We'll put it in a piece of bread, or do what the vet does.- puts the pill at the back of her mouth, hold her snout closed before she can spit it out, and lightly blow in her face, which makes her swallow.
