| Hernia specialist,my baby, advices pleaseee Hi everyone, I am still new here, but I have to tell you that I feel like I am with my family here. I need your opinion in this. I've sold a puppy saing that she has a inguinal hernia in the contract, that the buyer is aware of this and the cost is 500$ total for the puppy........ Now she called me saying that her vet told her to go to a specialist, tha she has bilteral hernia, that is a life threatining condition*wich is not ,( is reducable)She has an appt with a specialist that the appt cost 500$, and the operation costs from 800 to 1200 $ ???? I told her my vet charges around 350$ and only 150$ extra at spaying time, but she was saying that my vet it is not a specialist(that she won't do such a good job and if not the puppy can die) and that she wants another reduced price for 250$??? She says... you will have a specialist for your kids not a regular doctor rigth? And she confuses me because she says that her daugther fell in love with the puppy but if I don't relower the price more she can go and buy a healthy puppy somewhere else. So can anyone suggest what should I do in this case? I want my puppy back now,I trust my vet, and I will do that operation.Do I really need a specialist? I miss her so much, and for the price, I want her even more.

| Give the person the money back and get our puppy back. My vet repairs hernias at the time of spay at no extra charge and its not life threatening. Or tell her to take the dog to your vet for his opinion. Get all diagnosis in writing from the vets. |

| do you have a contract when you sell your puppies? I would suggest you talk with some breeders about how they would handle this situation. Although, I would be very tempted, to give her all her mopney back & get the puppy back

| Just do a refund, otherwise if you do a reduction in price, pay for vet expenses this can go on forever.

| I would refund the money and get your puppy back, however, I am not a breeder and I'm sure they will have more experienced information for you.

| I can't blame her for wanting a specialist to perform the surgery. And she probably can't help what the vet charges. You say you had an agreement w/ this lady to begin with? That is what I would honor then...the agreement that you stated. If it were me in that situation, I would offer to buy the pup back, or cover the costs of the surgery up to the price that she paid for the surgery. Hernias can be fixed and never present another problem for the dog. However, a million things could go wrong too. I lost a dog due to hernia complications, so I have to say that IMO it can be life threatening she has every right to be concerned about the dog. however, she should not expect you to do more than what your original agreement with her was as you were upfront in presenting the issue to her from the very beginning. |

| Hi guys, some news I talked to my vet again and she told me exactly what I told her.So she says now she wants the puppy, still going to an appt with that specialist on thursday. But in the agreement says, buyer is aware of the hernia, and cover all expenses by himself, and that the reduced price is alreday made, or return puppy within 14 days.I can breake the agreement if she doesn't wants her after she signed that will do it anyaway. I will take her back and keep her with me or my family. I gonna wait until she decides. I haven't cash her check yet, and I won't do it until after the appt I told her(when I had to do by time she came for the puppy). I 'm sorry about your hernias complication, can you tell us how did that happen? Or you can Pm me. Thanks guys!!!
