| Need advice: Food issue When I brought Max home he was eating ProPlan and I successfully moved him to Innova EVO. During the past 4 months he has eaten this food with no issues (loves it, coat looks good, no scratchies, etc.). My niece was in town last weekend for a formal and came to my house to get ready. While I was running some errands, she apparently fed him rotisserie chicken...TWICE. Now he will not touch his food. It has been a struggle this entire week to get him to eat anything but he does a happy dance whenever I eat. He will only eat one of his treats, nutri cal and some natural balance (I had a sample and was willing to try anything). Should I try and start him on another food or ride it out a little longer? Thanks in advance. I know I will get some great advice here!

| I have moved this to the health & diet forum. Anyone know how to delete this one? Sorry for adding this to the wrong place. Darn newbies.

| that's ok Well you have three options 1) home cook or 2) wait it out.. he WILL eat when he is hungry... (is he perhaps not eating because the chicken made him feel sick???) 3) switch foods... i know it is hard to "starve" them but if he is in fact being stubborn, he will eat it eventually |

| I would ride it out a little longer if he was doing fine on it before. He has gotten a taste of some GOOOOOD chicken and he was being spoiled for a little and wants mommy to do the same. This happend to me with my baby he was given a piece of broiled chicken meat from my daughter and the bad thing about it she fed him from the table. For a little bit about 2 weeks he would be at the table whinning for food. I hated to but I corrected him and ignored him it eventually stopped. At first I had to crate him when we ate to calm him down. He still does it mabe once in a blue moon. But when I distract him and correct him he goes and lays down. But hopefully he will come out of it. I hope I may have helped a little bit. But im pretty sure anyone that is out there that is a trainer can give you some really good advice. |

| Thanks very much! I knew I would get great advice here and maybe I needed to be told it was OK to ride it out. He was a little sick from the chicken and has started begging when I eat, so I will give him some time and hope he moves past this. I rarely home cook for me so he's out with that one unless he moves in with my niece. LOL! Thanks again!
