| My pups were on Royal Canin 28. Now they are eating Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish. I'm considering Canidae........but don't know which one to use (allergen free).

| i'm thinking of going with either the duck and potato, or the venison sweet potato formula i'm wondering about these samples we have, they look like pate... they come in a sausage looking container, it's food i think (not a treat) it is also by natural balance... has anyone tried these?...also is there a smaller kibble with the natural balance? bc the samples i have are flat disc like kibbles, but she's used to the smaller ones...

Make sure it doesn't have any Rice Gluten in it. There was another recall recently and natural balance was listed becuase of the rice gluten. http://www.fda.gov/ora/fed_state/recalls/pet_food.pdf

| Canidae was recommended by our breeder. She said Royal Canin was okay, and most of our dogs have been on it without problem, but that their coats were much much better on Canidae. Unfortunately, Canidae only make a "one size fits all" dry food. I really like Royal Canin's Baby Dog food and Puppy Food. I solved my problem by mixing the Royal Canin Puppy Food and Canidae for my nursing mom Coco and pregnant mom Ruby. The younger adults eat Canidae. The puppies will start with Royal Canin Baby Dog food. What can I say??? And for the record...I grew up with little dogs who ate nothing but table scraps and BONES! They never had a sick day in their lives and never had to have their teeth cleaned. Sometimes progress just isn't what we think it should be. Good luck everyone Katelin Coco, Ruby, Bizzy Bee, Jersey and puppies Wizard, Wellington, Windsor and Webster |
