1 ounce meat (white meat chicken) 88 grams carbs 60 grams veggies 1 tsp. oil (canola, olive) Supplements This would be lower protein (24%). I have had to switch things around slightly because she wasn't getting enough calories.

The only thing that is special about the diet above is it is somewhat limited protein for Ellie's liver...

| Oh well it sounds like a basic good food diet....I will be giving them some olive oil on their veggies about 2 times a week as they seem to be doing very good on home cooked even with out it but it is a very healthy food to give them and it will change the taste of the veggies adding more variety. I still have to find a suppletment for them. This is my busy season so it is very difficult to think clearly about what to feed them. This happened last year at this time too but I was pretty well fixed on dry dog food as the right way to go. So I homed cooked for them for a few weeks till I got the dry dog food situation worked out now we are back to home cooking and are going to stay there. Tina

| How much homecooekd to how much kibble are you giving a day? If you are going to go entirely homecooked then it is good to add oil all the time. Dogs need linoleic acid.

I don't have a scale that will accurately weigh my dogs either, but you should be able to see physical changes if your dog gaining weight. I can tell by just picking my dogs up. In addition, their clothes inevitably get tighter. LOL.

| if they were gaining that much more weight I would notice it yes but I am talking about gaining 1/4 to 1/2 lb which isn't that noticeable unless you have a scale. I don't want their weight to vary too much. Tina

| I work all day so it is very difficult to feed them home cooked food in the morning....it just doesn't that well and I want them to have fresh food not just cold out of the frig. So kibble works better in the morning. I just finished working it's 7pm and have been on the go since Tuesday all day and into the night. in between had to cook for the kiddies and food shop to get some chicken etc. lol it's not easy...but they don't get much attention during Feb thru Apr. There are days when I take the afternoon to spend with them but I just fall right back into the same backed up work thing. luckily I work at home 4-5 days a week. Oh well working on a better schedule for the next years . Time flys too fast and I feel like I am missing out on too much now.Tina
