| I could be wrong, but I always thought a roached back was a dog that does not have a straight top-line. Like a low tail set or low in the front makes the back look like a roached back. Its not level from withers to tail set. A really roached back is the Bedlington Terrier. This is correct for this breed but not the Yorkie. |

| I thought any kind of hump was considered a roach back? I've always thought Rylie had a roach back. Here is the best picture I could find showing it...his isn't too bad

| Zippy has one but I think that was more of a result of his back injury.

| I am with you, if a yorkie does not have a straight topline then it is a roach back... when they hump up like this.. |

| I know that because Kayah has the same back.... I was talking to a reputable breeder (and a couple other people) at the Yorkie Fair.. and I said that she had roach back.. they all looked at me like I was nuts and when into explaining what roach back is and what it looks like (I don't remember though, sorry).. They said that you can semi-straighten it out by "hanging" them at a table edge (hold them to the edge... hopefully you know what I mean).. I didn't do that I just hold her in the air for a few seconds every so often.. It seemed to help

| Random question - can it be caused by bad luxating patellas? Sammy walks funny because of her LP's and they will be fixed next month. I should take a side-shot before and after. The trouble is getting her to hold still.

| here is Kayah at 5 months.. it actually looked EXACTLY like Rylie's.. I guess the angle of the camera didn't capture it.. but it has improved into (almost) straight
