I bought my girl for breeding from a show breeder and my contract with her is that if I have puppies, I am required to sell those with limited registration.
Part of the reason for this is the breeder is trying to protect her lines.
Also, a lot goes into breeding. I have thought about it, read and studied for several years. I wouldnt want somebody buying a puppy and turning around and churning out puppies with no knowledge of what they are doing; therefore I will happily sell limited.
Just my opinion.

I agree 100%.

To me, two different prices for limited and full registration is about as ethical as charging more for smaller puppies.

Things can take a turn for the worse very easily and you can lose your female. It would have if I hadn't gotten fast emergency care. Not to mention the breeder obviously didn't feel the girl she sold you should be breed.

Most reputable breeders are only breeding to better the breed(hopefully) or at least stay within the standard and are not worried about the "competition" out there. They have no problem placing puppies on limited registration. If a puppy is going on spay/neuter/limited registration, my opinion is that they should be less of a price than a top of the line, show potential, breeding potential dog. Usually there is a reason for the limited registration like the dog is going to be too small to breed/show or it is not show potential and most breeders DONT want their bloodlines to get out in the byb'r, mill or non showing homes.

Sounds like the puppy is going to be too small to breed. Maybe you can contact the breeder and get a refund or an exchange puppy. Maybe the breeder misinterpreted you about wanting to breed.

ok.. so when i got home. there is a box, on the left side that has a 3 digit number and outside the box on the right side says limited... so im assuming i can breed her with AKC??? right???

Yep that is what it means but again you want to make sure she is big enough when she reaches that age.

Yes, if you can read the works limited that means she was sold to you with full registration so you can register any puppies from her as long as your male is also AKC.

so... what size should my remy be? my boy is AKC stardard 6lbs.. and my remy right now is 2.8 at 17 weeks... do you think she will reach 5lbs at least?

Make sure she is over 5 lbs if you decide to breed her.

yes my male is stardard 6lbs akc silky hair.

i was planning on breeding her once with my boy and that was it. and i did tell the breeder, but she didnt say anything about being limited until i got home and took a closer look. To make the story short, i can register her with my AKC male. The only problem i have now is if she will be big enough. she is 2.8 at 17weeks.

All my pups are spayed or neutered before leaving my home , this way , things are clear and I don't have to deal with the peoples wanting a pet but on the other way they decide to breed .

I really don't think that she's going to be big enough. You said she hasn't gained much weight in 5 weeks and is 2.8lbs at 17 weeks...I don't see that baby reaching 4lbs

Educate yourself and buy from reputable breeders or rescue.
