| Hi everyone, Just a little update..... after switching to home cooking for 4 days, Mochi has been eating each meal. Today she was in emergency (she hit her head) and the vet weighted her, she is now 2.5 lbs, she gained about 0.4 lbs in such a short period of time. Of course, she finished a big meal and had lots of water, so even that, she must have gained quite some weight. Thank you all for the advice regarding home cooking. PS. Please refer to thread: "Mochi hit her head......" in the Sick & Emergency forum.

| Do you mean vitamins? Yes, I add vitamin powder in each meal just to make sure she has all the nutrients that she needs. I also add some omega 3, 6 oil into her meal to boost her skin/hair health.

Are you adding calcium (preferrably balanced with phosphorus)?

| Sorry, not really. I use a certain brand for Ellie but it is formulated for health issues. The regular kind in this brand isn't my first choice. Quite a few people here use Dr. Pitcairn's Healthy Powder (this is for calcium and other vitamins...). I really don't have an opinion on if it is good but if you would like to try it you can order his book or search on YT for the Healthy Powder recipe or maybe PM marcerella02 or Yorkiedaze for it. Like I said though, I can't guarantee you that it is balanced...

| It always lacks even if you feed yogurt or cottage cheese everyday. It has to be supplemented and other things have to be supplemented also. Vitamin D is needed for the calcium to work but this is best given in food form. Calcium should be balanced with phosphorus. That is why it's important to use the right mixture.
