| Donating YT 1000 Club Member | If you have a friend or someone near you that can bring over a playmate it may help. I have a Papillion the got depressed when our lab/shepard died and she weighted only 3.5 lbs to start. She lost 9 OZ. We have a friend with a big dog and bringing him over helped. It was like he comforted her and made her feel better. Our Lab/shepard passed over two years ago and our pap spicy still looks at big labs at the dog park. Thank goodness they are in a different fenced yard. This worked so well and it was what our vet recommended.

bandit is dog aggressive and so all the folks we know are owners of big dogs, great danes, newfoundlanders, German shepheards, Rotties and so on. We will go to the dog school on Sat and I will ask around, if not, I will post an add inthe local papers and ask, I am even willing to dog sit a small dog once a week if this will help the little darling. Today I took him everyhwere with me. He was lugging and very anxious and uncomfortable. These are all places he used to go before and now it is like ALL new and uncomfortable.

I think my second post stated that I feed him this normally and is part of his regular feeding so that is not interesting to him. I see the vet again tomorrow. He recommended some homopathic meds for him to get over the depression, so maybe that will help.

| Wow! That is so touching that he is mourning so for his pal. What strong emotional ties these little guys have for each other! Probably more than we know. sure hope he will start eating soon. We're keeping our fingers crossed. Good luck Janelles |

He keeps going by the area where scooby had his crate and scratching the floor for him, sniffing and scratching. I mopped out two times and still he can smell scooby. Then he wants out on the patio several times a day not to wee or poo only to look for his buddy

| Bandit has stopped eating again, he just wont eat only wants to play and play and play and drink water no food he is even turning away from nice lean chicken breast steamed, he just wont eat. He is all skin and hair and bones, he had eaten a bit last week but again he is back to the same nonsense of not eating. I am beginning to think this is a behavioral issue here. He is not sick, he has been so since I got him, off and on he may eat, but he is back to where he was long before <i got scooby. When I had scooby he ate daily, since scooby died he has reverted back to starving himself even tho the new puppy eats, he sniffs and walks off. i just dont understand this, it is really heartbreaking ![]() I think I had posted the chicken and rice recipe I made for him, he may eat it again but it must be exactly as it was before and <i cant remember the quantities. Does anyone remember where I may have posted this recipe, I tried doing a search but this topic is all I found Last edited by soccbydo; 02-17-2008 at 09:35 AM. |
