At the vet's office that I work for, we start checking their teeth after their last vaccine. As soon as all the baby teeth are out, we schedule the OHE or neuter. Sometimes, with the little ones we will wait a little longer to see if they will fall out on their own, if they haven't then we still try to do it before they turn 7 months. For a female, you want to make sure to get it done before they have their first heat cycle.

Yorkies often do have a problem with retaining some baby teeth unfortunately. Hopefully, that won't be an issue for your little guy.

OMG, I just paid over 400.00 for my girl to have three teeth pulled out and dew claws removed. I think I live near an expensive vet. grrrrrrrrrr
My girl is 7 months needing teeth removed. Yet I know of people that have had male altered at 4 months old, then needed teeth done 3 months later..
So getting both done at the same time is so much easier and so much better on a puppy..

Well, I think the dew claw removal is pretty expensive, so don't feel badly. Our cost of living is lower here too.
