| 'New' Sentry Natural Defense flea & tick repellent Has anyone used this yet? It's a new all natural product line that is an alternative to Frontline, Advantage, etc. It doesn't contain pesticides of any kind, but natural oils. This would be great if it worked! http://www.sergeants.com/sentry_nd/index.asp#nd_2

| I've been reading the product info on the website, and it contains peppermint oil, cinnamon oil, lemongrass oil and a few other natural botanicals.

| I bought some at Wal Mart the other day and put it on Summerlin today. To begin with it smells really strong, but after a couple of hours the smell fades away (for the most part). It doesn't have that chemically smell that most have; instead, it is like an odd smelling incense. She went really crazy for a little bit, running around and burrowing into things - I guess the fleas were moving. I will brush her out tomorrow to see if I find any dead ones. I am hoping I do, or the 9 bucks will be wasted

| Well, I did a bit of a look around and found some very negative reviews of this product. Seems that several people noted problems with skin irritation, hair discoloration and hair loss on their pets. A few people reported that the hair had not grown back, but didn't say how long it had been since they had used the drops. However, there were several very positive reviews also, so I hope it does work well for those here who are trying it. I would like to have a natural alternative to the chemicals, but I need to be absolutely certain it will work for all five pets. And I realize that just because something is "natural" doesn't automatically mean it is universally safe. |

I guess we'll just have to wait and see what the results are. I'm hoping it's safe - I hate the thought of using pesticides.

| I tried a different Sentry product on Lily and she had a horrible reaction. Personally I am staying away from that brand. I hope it works for you though! I also feel guilty putting all those chemicals on her, but it's better than fleas and ticks I suppose.
