| microvascular dysplaysia Hello, I'm new to the group and have some questions on microvascular dysplaysia. Is there any info on YorkieTalk that I can read? I'm also interested in homemade diets for this condition. Thank you in advance, Beaujes |

| Welcome to YorkieTalk http://pets.groups.yahoo.com/group/L...d_MVD_Support/ If you go to this link and join you will have enough reading material for a few good months. This is where the Yorkie owners on YorkieTalk go when their dogs are diagnosed with MVD. What are your dogs pre and postprandial bile acid results? You can get Dr. Dodds liver cleansing diet in the FILES section of that site above. Some people replace the fish with egg. Please ask questions before you start that diet. It may need to be tailored to your dog. I thought my dog had MVD but it turns out she doesn't. I got a recipe from a nutritionist (which I think is the best option) but since Ellie didn't have many symptoms it is higher in protein than most MVD dogs can handle, so it probably wouldn't do you any good.

| Yes, please join the group that Ellie May mentioned. The group has a very extensive FILES section. If you use the search button, type in MVD or liver shunt and you will find many previous threads on this topic, but my biggest piece of advice is to join the group. The moderators and several of the members on there have a lot of experience with these issues and diet issues. Also, there are many new members going through similar experiences. Does your dog have MVD? What meds, supplements, foods is he/she on?
