I am taking her for retesting in a few days and I pray:hands: the blood levels will return to normal. This little girl is truly the light of my life, and I just want her to be happy and healthy. Lauren:) Note: I was SO happy to do the pics for you:D |
Just checking in to see if Mango is doing alright...will keep you and she in my thoughts and prayers. Wishing and hoping all is well, and her test results come back all within normal limits next time. Hugs to you Lauren...and kisses for Mango... |

I'm really concerned tonight. Part of her symptoms has been constipation. She made one tiny poop yesterday morning, and nothing since then. I am worried about some kind of obstruction. The Vet told me to add a half tsp of Corn Oil to her food, but it has not prompted her to go. Lauren |
Has she been eating the same amount of food? If she's eating okay, and her vomit doesn't consist of any food, just the yellow bile, foamy stuff...hmmmm, I'll say a prayer that she makes a good poop...and soon. Poor little Mango, being sick is no fun for either of you. |

Oh no Lauren! So Mango still isn't 100%?!?! Any sign of a good ol' poop yet ;) :p :D ?? (Only on YT would this NOT be a weird question   )!! |
Any news Lauren? Any poops?:p Hoping for good news. Have you tried the pumplin? - it works for the runs and constipation - some sort of stabilizer. Did Jack have a good trip to Australia? You must be so glad to have him back. My Kevin goes to Botswana on Sunday for a week again:( I'm hoping to have Coffee sorted out before he goes. Holding thumbs for Mango, Hugs, |

The Vet's suggestion of a half tsp of corn oil seems to have worked somewhat, although she is pooping out round little balls... too weird. She does seem much better today, especially because Jack returned from Australia. He was there for a family function. He left Wednesday and came back this morning. Mango went totally beserk when she saw him - had zoomies galore:animal37, in between leaping on his head to give zillions of kisses, followed by another round of demented zoomies....too cute. I just hope the excitement doesn't set off the vomiting again. Have you and Matt finished the big move yet?? Hugs, Lauren |

Jack's trip was great. Funny you should say Kevin is going to Botswana - in April of this year, Jack took his Dad on a Grand Safari tour; they went to Savuti, Muchenji (I'm sure I spelled those all wrong) and Chief's Camp. Have you heard of them? The pictures were so amazing. It was a wonderful experience for them, and definitely the last year his Dad could have done that, as he is really getting up there in years. I wish you luck with your little Coffee today, Lauren:D P.S. I just noticed your expression -"holding thumbs" and had to giggle. I still use it all the time, but I hardly ever hear it in the USA.... for all you Yankees - it means "hoping for the absolute best outcome".....and that concludes our South African lesson for the day. |

Matt and I are officially staying at the new house now, but we're still getting stuff moved over from the old house (how come everything seems to multiply when it comes time to move it????). Matt and 2 guys from our fish store moved the fish tank on Saturday, and we only lost 1 fish, so that's a HUGE relief! Especially after seeing that they were all on their side and looking VERY bad when he put them back in the tank. We expected to lose ALL of them at that point, so we are counting our blessings on that one!! Matt is very sore (a 240-gallon tank is HEAVY...even minus the water), but we finally have some help on the way as we have 2 friends coming in this weekend to help us - 1 from San Francisco and 1 from San Diego. He and I already moved a lot of the big stuff with just the 2 of us, but it is a relief that he'll have some help with the rest of the heavy stuff, as a lot of it is just too much for me to be much good with. You should've seen us carrying out the huge king-sized mattress by ourselves. It must've been a sight! While they are bringing more stuff over, I will be working at the house to get the stuff put away that's already there. So...hopefully it will be done soon! And then you and Mango have to come over and check out Sukoshi's room in person!!! |

yep,one teeny weeny one that came out like little marbles.I just wish I could figure out what is causing this. Their little digestive systems are so sensitive. Give your girls a smoosh for me, Lauren:) |

By the way, does "our" coffee taste the same as your coffee? Someone on here wants to know. We were in the States 18 years ago and I can't really remember:confused: I'm sure it is the same. When last were you here. Hugs, Sheilagh. |

The coffee here is wonderful, a bit stronger I think than the South African blends. Starbucks is my favorite, although my absolute best still is good old S.A. tea - nothing to beat that. Mom brings me bags and bags of "5 Roses" when she comes here; same with the chocolate - I can never get enough and hoard it when she brings some. Nobody is my house dares eat from my stash of lekker South African chocolates:p. I haven't been back to S.A. for over 2 years. Last time I stayed in Johannesburg for a few days, and then went with my Mom to visit the cousins in Cape Town. I love it there; I still think it is the MOST beautiful place on earth. Argh! now you're making me miss my HomeLand even more. Totsiens! Slaap goed;) Lauren:D |
YAY-Mango pooped!! hahahaha.;) :p glad she's feeling more like herself..kisses, zoomies, and all!!:D |
Hey there Lauren...I prayed for poop...how weird is that??? Tonight I'll pray for a normal poop, I guess I have to be very specific with the man upstairs. Glad to hear hubby is home...and Mango was thrilled to see him...as were you, I'm sure. Did I read that right you have a hoard of chocolates? I've never had a South African chocolate...will you share, or must I come to your house and hunt them down myself? I'd love to meet you...what a wonderful reason to go to sunny California!!! It actually snowed here yesterday, and yes Winston and I were outside "playing" in it...woohoo...what fun! Now come on Mango...poop for mommy!!! It'll make her very happy...and I just know you've got it in ya...literally |

After looking at Sukoshi's wardrobe, I can only just imagine what the little darlin's room :doghouse:is going to look like. Will there be works of art gracing the walls, will she have a walk-in closet, her very own private bathroom???Lest you forget, your little girl will ONLY go potty in PRIVATE:eyebrow2:....Tee..Hee... Oh the joys of moving! Just make sure Mango's little friend does NOT get SKOSHED by falling boxes, Lauren:D |
Any news on Mango? I hope the little sweetie is doing better. Hugs, |
It's been 2 days...no update on Mango? I'm going to believe that no news is good news. I'm sure Lauren would be on here if there was a problem with her baby, Mango...Lauren, are you here? How's our girl doing now? I will continue praying for normal poops...until I hear differently, okay? |

Thanks for checking Hon. I actually replied about Mango in Sheilagh's thread, then I saw your alert. Mango seems like her old self, but she is being retested on Monday. It gnaws at me constantly, those bad test levels; they just HAVE to be normal on the next results. My Mom is visiting from South Africa, and she has so fallen in love with her....it's the first time Mango has met her skin Granny. In the past few days Mango has resumed her demented zoomies, especially since her Daddy returned after being out of town for the long weekend.(She seriously missed him). She spent this afternoon snoozing on my Mom's lap in between laps around the house. So I am praying this is an indication that all is well. Thanks for remembering my little girl, Lauren:) Edit: I have been adding her kibble back into her diet, bit by bit and thank goodness she is making beautiful little poops again. (A statement only a Mommy can make;)) |
Yea!!! Way to go Mango. Sounds like she is one happy pooch now that her daddy's home, and she has her Grandma to spoil her more then she is already. I'll start praying for normal test results instead of poop, OK? Enjoy your time with your mom...it's priceless. |
Hooray That is good news about her poopies. Look forward to hearing the results of Monday's test and her levels have straightened out. Warmly, Deborah PS It sounds like you have a vet who just doesn't pat you on the head and says "don't worry". Better to be secure in the results and then you can relax. |
Thank God that Mangito is doing better:aimeeyork  |

I'm SO HAPPY to hear Mango is making poops again! And that you're having a great visit with you mom. Too bad we aven't having a meet-up while she's here so we could meet her and she could see all the babies playing together!! Show her pics of Sukoshi and tell her it's "nice to meet her". :D :D |
Lauren, so pleased Mango is doing well. (good poops and all) I will be holding thumbs on Monday. (just had to say that) There are so many very, very ill babies here at the moment, it breaks my heart, I'm so pleased Mango seems to be out of the woods. There are so many prayers going around I think somebody up there must be VERY busy:thumbup: Hugs, |
Any news Lauren? I keep checking to see if there's an update on her test results. Keeping Mango in my prayers. Hugs, |

Hi hon! Thanks for remembering. I got the blood test results back this afternoon. Her Blood Glucose level: two weeks ago was 130 and is now 120 60 to 110 are within normal limits, so Mango's is still a bit high. Tests on Pancreas/AMY: two weeks ago was1501 and is now 525. 200 to 1200 are within normal limits and this is the one I was so very concerned about, because it would have meant chronic Pancreatitis if the numbers had not come down. I just cannot figure out why the Glucose level is still elevated though. She was on the Prescription Diet for the first week, and only had her kibble slowly introduced into that in the 2nd week. Anyway, she is back to her normal "demented" little self, which makes me SO happy. I think my Mom is going to "pack" her by mistake when it's time to go back to S.A.;) I hope your Coffee is doing better - did the PTA Vet recommend any other physiotherapy besides the swimming? Have a lekker day when you wake up in a short time - it's almost bedtime here now, the other end of the world. Hugs, Lauren |
I just hope that Mango get better and better:aimeeyork |
Lauren I just stopped by to check in on Mango. Results are sounding better, what a relief!!! What does your Vet say about the glucose? I think it's okay, it would be much higher if there was a true problem, right? Just have it repeated occasionally, for peace of mind. Winston and I both send our love... |
Greta and Kathy, Thank you so much for checking in on my baby. The Vet is not sure at all why the Glucose levels are still slightly elevated. we will definitely be keeping an eye on that in the future. Mango is my treasure, my baby girl. I could not bear it if she developed a chronic illness. But, as long as her Vet does not seem worried, I feel fine about her for now.:thumbup::thumbup: Lauren |
