| Xena is that way when I clip her nails - it's scary really. Sadly I admit I bought her a mussel (sp?) so she wouldn't hurt me or her. She is an angel for everything else, like ear trimming.

| i know this may not be funny to some people. but instead of a puppy cut- she can have a muzzle cut. . one of my females is getting to where she does not like to be groomed- and i try to do a different part- ears-nails-pads, etc. each time i give all 5 of mine a bath, i have had to put her in a no sit harness. |

Donating YT 14K Club Member | You know, you can get a mild sedative from your vet that can help. Not only will it protect you but it'll actually help the dog from getting too stressed and the hurting itself. I know a lot of people don't want to go that route but it is an option.

| Thankfully I keep the hair on her face long, I couldn't imagine trying to cut that. I was thinking of just taking her to the groomer or the vet for her nail trim, but as angry as she gets I don't trust anyone else to stay calm with her.

| I read your title and said that sounds like Buddy let's read this It's Brownie, no wonder I thought it was Buddy They seem so much alike. Buddy does not do that though(he bit the groomer instead) but a groomer (YorkieRose) I think mentioned about putting peanut butter in the roof of their mouth while they were being groomed to keep them still. Sounds like a good idea. Good luck. Browine be still or your going to be earless one of these days |

Yorkie Yakker | grooming I have read all your stories and do relate to them all. However, I read on YT some time ago about a Yorkie that was taken to the groomers just to have a simple grooming and when the owner went to pick him up he had died while being groomed as they gave him a sedative to calm him down. I have an 8 month old Yorkie that I do myself and after reading that storie would no ever consider a groomer. I work with Topaz and talk to him the whole time I am grooming him and he has had to learn it is my way not his. I would rather have a little problem for a little while learning to groom him rather than a dead Yorkie. |

| Uma is perfectly calm during the grooming process.....untill you get to nail trimming! She has threatened to nip, takes my hand in her mouth and gives a warning look, so far I just give her kisses ti she lets go and then resume the process. Maybe one day she will get use to the trimming.

| I have a hard enough time trying to get a top knot in Penny. I could never cut her hair she'd go bizerk, and I'd have a nervous breakdown. My hats off to you for trying. How about trying to give him treats while your cutting.

| Oh, my! Kacee just sits there so nice for me when I'm cutting her face. I'm blessed. I truly am. She doesn't like for me to brush or comb her face, but she'll let me do it. She doesn't like for her nails to be cut, though. I think it comes from the times they have cut into the quick. I totally understand that!
