| ![]() oh am glad your groomer is letting you stay. Am sure Buddy will be very happy you are around to supervised and watch to make sure the grommer behaves ![]() I have found a wonderful groomer and she works at Petsmart so I am free to stay and watch, but from a glass windor ![]() I think that groomers don't really encourage pet owners to watch as their babies then to get excited that they could not be with their mommies and that is what happens with Annika. She is well behaved when I am NOT arround but definitely starts to wiggle and get super excited the minute she sees me walk into the grooming salon ![]() |

| ![]() I noticed u mentioned that your groomers shop is really busy which may have caused stress biting. Have u talked to the groomer about a late afternoon appt or a day when fewer clients are booked? I trained in a large grooming shop and if I told I all saw there ppl would flip out. I think if u really want to know if u have a groomer that loves to groom and loves dogs ask a few questions. 1. Why do u groom? If the answer involves money - run. 2. What breed do u not like grooming? 3. Are u a certified groomer? 4. How do u handle stressed animals? 5. If u have to muzzle, how long do u leave it on? (ASPCA states a muzzle should not be on an animal for more than 12-15 min) 6. Do u use drugs for stressed animals? 7. How long will my dog be here? 8. Will be dog be housed with another animal? Some shops r so busy they put dogs in kennels together. 9. Am I allowed to stay? If not why? 10. What type of cleaning products do u use and how often do u clean? If any of the answers are not good ones - thank them and find another groomer.

That is great information for anyone looking for a new groomer. Thanks for posting it. Most of the questions I know the answer to and am very confortable with ,it's the muzzle thing that concerns me. I will be there so I feel confortable at this time with it. Yes, she is certified and has been at this location for 14yrs. She came highly recommended also. I am hoping this works out because I really think she knows her stuff and Buddy looks beautiful when he leaves there. It's he and I only all the time so I think possibly he got alittle frisky on that table. I am curious to see how he does when I am there though. Not sure if I should just watch where he can't see me or stand next to him. She is leaving that up to me. | |
