| Does anyone do the anal glands themselves? I do my own grooming now, but before when I took Biscuits to the groomer, she would always do his anal glands. Recently he has been scooting his butt all along the floor, I know he needs them done. Is it safe to do them yourself? How do you learn how to do it without hurting them? |

| expressing hI! I do all of my girls. I express theirs when they get their baths and are nice and warm in the water. You should have your vet show you if you aren't sure as it could hurt them if you aren't careful. Scooting on the floor is a sign that they need to be emptied as that is how they empty them naturally but that smell will go all over your floor. He could just be scratchin too? Good luck. I think the glands can also be removed with surgery now but not all vets do that. ...Linda P.S. Hi neighbor!! |
