BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | Long Hair! What do you all do when the hair is not in a pony tail but it's so long that it's in the eyes? I'm letting her topknot grow out, but I dont keep it in the pony all the time, but if I dont you cant see her eyes and it looks so uncomfortable! Do you use small clips to pull it out of the eyes? I refuse to cut it off, I can finally pull all her bangs back into the pony now! She goes to the groomers for the 1ST time this coming Thursday! I'm so scared, they want me to drop her off at 7am and she has NEVER been away from me like this! I did go meet these people and they are very nice and have a wonderful; shop and boutique. It's a mother/daughter team and they have been in business for many years! Any suggestions? |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I used to use little tiny cloth scrunchies and never have cut the hair on the tops of my girls heads - be patient - it will grow !! For the groomer - WRITE DOWN WHAT YOU WANT DONE !!! EDITED TO ADD - These are my own directions from when I used to go to the groomer - I made them hang it in their salon lol WITH my girls picture Shave Top 1/3 of ears Pluck inside the ear Sanitary cut on tummy Shave a LITTLE on their butt - no Baboon Butts !!! Shape feet and trim under them Clip nails...VERY carefully Check Anal Glands ? IF you trust the groomer (I DO NOT DO THIS) Cut as per YOUR direction - not what they think looks good Type it up and TAKE IT WITH YOU

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | I just think how I feel when I have my pony tail in my hair all day, at the end of the day I take it out and just feel so much better! When I take her hair down she does this little dance and I massage the top of her head and she is in heaven! I cant leave it up all day and all night, I feel bad for her. |

This was lengthy, I apologize, but the thing is ... no matter how great they sound, I would be extremely cautious until you are absolutely certain that your baby is getting the treatment that you expect. I wound up being Toto's groomer and we're doing OK! Our vet takes care of the gland and I occasionally get him to clip her nails ... yep, he does these things himself ... like I said, he's wonderful and smooches Toto all the time when he's seeing her. He would make a great Yorkie owner!! Good luck with your groomer, I hope they are everything you expect. If they don't insist that you only come when called to pick her up, I would "pop in" just to check on her. Please let us know how it goes.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | OMG Bettyeanne - That's a GREAT WARNING about groomers and something everyone has to be so careful about - I could handle a terrible haircut but never handle someone trying to steal my girls.....what a huge scare for you and GREAT POST !! Thanks for the reminder to those who use new groomers - and even to those of us who've been before ....if my girls go again - and they may I'm adding that to my list - ONLY I PICK THEM UP. |

| I've tried 3 different groomers here. The first one cut the hair along Abbie's nose which STILL hasn't grown back a year later! In all fairness, it has grown back out, just not enough for it to lay down. It's still all over the place and no, lol, it has nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that Abbie has awful hair. There. I said it. Awful hair. The second one was recommended by a yorkie breeder. I thought this one would work out great since even though they didn't seem to thrilled, they agreed to let me stay while she was being groomed. I know they meant the front room, but I mosied my way back there shortly after they took Abbie and they had 3 dogs, Maltese I think, obviously from the same home, all lined up in the sink, soaking wet, tethered and NO ONE WATCHING THEM!!! They were shivering the poor things! Anyway, as soon as they saw me they went ahead and finished Abbie up. They did a great job but I don't think I could ever go back there. My third groomer is a sweetheart, a Cesar Milan fan...is so gentle with my girls. She doesn't do such a great job, but she really tries her best.all she does a sanitary cut and is trying to learn to do the ears like I think they should be done, the pads of their feet and around the foot. If I ask, she'll do the anal glands and pluck the ears. I keep thinking I should learn to do this myself. I think I would if I didn't have to clip the nails. Gives me the hhheeebbbbiiiieee jjjeeebbiieesss Why do I love this girl? She comes to my house, let's me bath them and all she does is the grooming. Charges me 35.00 for both girls. I LOVE HER!!!

| I don't know if you found a solution but I use a tiny snap type clip barrette. I bought them at Claires and they are for baby hair. You just use pressure to close it, they don't bother her while she's sleeping and it keeps the hair out of her eyes.

| I use the little cloth scrunchies in their hair. Summer's hair gets in her face if I don't pull it back. I do try to take it out bc I feel the same way like you said after a while their head probably hurts like ours. I try not to keep their bows in too tight. Especially at night I let them go without a bow bc they are sleeping and it doesn't bother them as much.
