| Shaving rear end We're about to shave Angel's rear end because the hair is getting pretty long and we want to prevent "cling-ons" Before we brought her home (Jun. 10), the breeders did this for us but never really showed us. I know you're suppose to shave around the hole but how about directly over it or would you just clip it short with scissors? How does everyone here do it? The hair seems to have grown back pretty fast since it was done, but the breeder told us we wouldn't have to reshave her for 6mnths and it's only been about 2mnths. Also, I've read about this waterless shampoo. Can someone elaborate on this? Thanx

| I trim Rocco's all over around the hole, I didn't see hair on the hole itself. |

| I use a little pair of clippers made by ConairPets. I takes just a few seconds to do this way. I have seen a container of wipes that are used to rub on the fur rather than an actual washing. I think they serve a purpose for keeping the face and bootie clean between washings, but I don't believe anything waterless will ever do the job as well as an actual washing will. Plus, there isn't anything waterless (that I know of) that will give specific conditioning for Yorkie's hair.

I bought a Wahl mustache trimmer at Wal Mart and that is what I use to do the trimming, although, before I bought it, I did the same thing!!!

| I have a ConAir human electric clippers and I just run it all on and around the butt. I don't like poo getting stuck to the hair either. If that happens, I have to wipe their butt like little kids. Yuk! |

My furkids Donating Member | I used clippers a couple of times....But, (no pun intended!!) I found Sadie would do the bum dance! I think it cuts too close and when it starts to grow it picks her bum...therfore causing the bum dance!! I use scissors now...I find this better.

| shaving the butt thing Ok I am learning all kinds of things reading these posts - I did'nt know you were suposed to shave their little butts Bubba so far has'nt had any clinggys but I do'nt want him to either - I have'nt even had the nerve to try to clip his nails the groomer or the vet does it for me - looks like I will be cheking out one more thing to add to my to have done when we go to the vet / groomer list / keep the linfo. coming ladies. I just love learning all this stuff - Hey tell me this shouldI clip Bubbas hair off of his ears ? or let it grow? my husband says no - but then I never do anything he says anyway- so on to the question at hand should I his left ear does not go up all the way -he had a yeast inf. when he was 5mth . and I have had to keep watch ever since - no reacurance but the vet also said that when they cut teeth it sometimes keeps the ears from coming up - so could that be it ? help out there-----bas1 |

| I have a whal trimmer, but haven't tried it on Venus yet, just Adonis. I've been using some older hair scissors on her butt. She moves so much, and even though it really is a 2 person job, I live alone, so I have to make it a 1 person job. Its usually quite crooked, but who will be looking at her butt anyway? lol |
