Detangling spray causing build up/dandruff Someone had suggest a detangling spray on here and I just used it this weekend and it caused her hair to have build up on her coat. Does anyone have another recommendation of something to use that will not cause this build up?

| I use Vellus Static Stabilizer as a detangler, although it isn't really intended as one. Works for us. No sticky mess or buildup. This past winter when the furnace and dry air were drying out my boys' coats, I used organic coconut oil. It made the hair greasy, so I used it close to bath day.

I use Mane N Tail Shampoo & Conditioner for Oscar .. It is fabulous . It leaves his coat silky & shiny . The conditioner is also a detangler , I put a few tsp in a small spray bottle with water and use that for his daily grooming . It does not leave any buildup on him ..

Thanks, I give organic, virgin, unrefined coconut oil daily to them but may try it on their coats. It does seem like it would make it very greasy though.

Coconut oil is definately better as a prebath treatment, or to get a knot out, it's basically impossible to avoid getting them too greasy. Unless Lola's hair is really dry or knotted I spray the brush instead of her hair, spraying her directly too often makes her hair feel dirty.
